Government has completely hands off in the administration and management of primary level of education in Nigeria. And as a result of this, private individual now have the opportunity to established control and managed a school of their own.. but quite unfortunate Since their inception to owned a school There are increase in Building Blocks rather than increase in having quality and Standard Educational System

setting up a school should never be because of money.

Must everything always be money in business. how about setting up a school first to deliver quality education.

See your no1 reason, Money!

Typical Nigerian, no impact on society. just make money!

Bro, I get, this article is about reasons people start private school business in Nigeria, and let's be realistic...

The no 1 reason is money

Good business idea.... Knowledge impact should be the priority now and not profit making.

Knowledge impacting is the ultimate goal of schools, making money healthily makes it easier to give standard education to students...

Ppl should not underate and undermine the role of money in building a school

Have you ever taught in a classroom?

I was privileged to experience the life of a teacher during my NYSC year and one thing that struck me was; I use to tell myself that I had the power to mess up their brains at this level and it will stay F.cked up for a long time to come with wrong ideals & knowledge.

That's how powerful school is. The things/ideals you learn in those teenage years will play a very huge part of your adult life.

Its far beyond looking at the school fees. Money will always be tied to Value and that should be the sole aim of establishing a learning centre.

Money will come automatically when the owner provides value.

Bro, your head is there, you see, we have a school in the family, I taught in a school before, I know many school owners personally, and I created that website privateschoolresult.com to cater for school needs, so I think I am an authority here bro,

There is no doubt that in a school business, value is super important, in this article itself, where I was explaining about how money is important, I said ::

"So, starting a school to achieve that goal is not a bad thing as long as you produce a quality education and you positively add to the lives of people.

The bad thing is to be selfish and greedy because, you aim for money! That’s what you should avoid."

So, why are people avoiding that part

Also in the PH school business.

It is capital intensive and you won't break even for the first few years. However, it depends on your scale and vision.

The good (& sad) thing is there are capable teachers all over the place. Focus on recruitment strategy and recruit ONLY knowledgeable and versatile hands.

Its quite bad.
Just imagine you don't have a husband or better still imagine you're a man and.you have to take care of your family.
Remember people will not always support at the start of something good. Don't be discouraged, as long he's not asking you not to go ahead.
He'll definitely support when he sees your determination, if he truly loves you.

Education as a tool that moulds individuals for life is too important to be tied to money making. Government failed, the moment they under-funded education at all levels, thereby exposing the citizens to the quackery and evil shrouded in private education that is the order of the day in Nigeria.
Serious countries world over build their progress and future on quality education made available at little or no cost to their citizens through subsidies and government funding.
Private people who found schools have the means to do so, have the right values and her monitored by government. Their aim for founding schools is not for money making!
School/Education is extremely capital intensive and is so if the right quality must be there.
The present school mushrooming situation in Nigeria is pathetic, sad and a catastrophe waiting to unleash itself in the coming future.

At Op, you can do well to sell your business/idea by emphasizing the right bases, reasons and inputs involved in school founding. If not, you would have been a part of the problem, encouraging mediocrity, evil and the untimely 'death' of several citizens of your country, young and old through poor education.

Bro will take longer than a few years to break even. No money dey like before. We had to even bring back day schooling to reduce cost of boarding. As for prices are rising too fast.

Teachers dey for sure but with no money coming in, it's hard to pay salary consistently esp as money tends to come in 3 times a year.

There are too many schools in ph. When I was younger it wasent the case.

Bk then if u didn't goto public school, u had only about 2 or 3 schools within the city that every one went to.

Now the market is littered with rubbish

Quite expensive to run. The primary school where I work just built a new building which the total cost should be around 500m to 700m
