Hello everyone,
I created and submitted my profile yesterday with crs 415 though my husband's ECA is not out yet and he hasn't done his IELTS. I received an email this morning that my application has been updated, I logged in to my account but I wouldn't find anything new, please what is the meaning of this? Is this what is called ghost update? If yes, can someone without ITA get ghost update?

The maximum CRS points you can amass with this profile is 445 which is not sufficient for ITA based on recent trend. If I were you we’d look at the French option to see how we can up this points.

How did it go? March to September is quite fast.

Hi everyone, a newbie here and I want to appreciate all contributions you all have made with regards to information sharing and the likes.
I must say I have spent the past two days reading back after I have been postponing embarking on this journey for almost a year now.
I would like to start off the process by verifying my results (OND, HND and a professional certificate) with WES and I would appreciate any guidance I can get in order not to make any mistakes. I understand that this journey may still be long and would require the highest level of patience so I am hoping for the best.
Kindly assist me with any information that could be helpful to me as I do this. Many thanks to all of you.
What school?

ICES timeline is 20+ weeks. WES is 7 weeks from when documents are accepted (not when received). CES is 12 weeks. There are two other ECA bodies.

The choice is yours.

Simulate your CRS score. Send your documents to sort out your ECA (evaluation of degrees). Also sit for IELTS and aim for 8777 (8 in listening).

How long does it take for them to accept it after they received the documents?

With ICES you do not need to include waec, it costs 200CAD if you have a contact in Canada to receive your report and then scan to you, that is if you are evaluating only one (highest) certificate, you can also request for your official documents from Unilag to be sent by email, so as to save cost and time. In most cases, they do not conduct secondary verification, especially if your transcript was received through unilag's official email address (records@unilag.edu.ng), but the processing period is about 20weeks from the day your official documents are received.

Thank you for this.

amaya21:
Foreign work experience in the context of EE = work experience outside Canada. You will need to choose an NOC that matches closely to what you do, and then apply with similar documents to what a self-employed person would use.

The journey has begun. I've sent my Master's degree certs to WES. The two universities I attended in Holland have also sent my transcripts to WES free of charge and according to my specific instructions (WES format). Now preparing for IELTS. *hoping and praying it takes one shot*

Your school should send your transcript to WES. They're not asking for your degree. It's the transcript they will assess

Haba! This is wrong advice now. She/he needs to send degree certificate or statement of result while school sends transcripts.

Unless WES have changed their requirements or the requirements are different for those who have Nigerian degrees, they ask that your school send your transcripts to them. I didn't send my degree to them, neither did they ask for it. I did my ECA report this year. They don't accept documents from you. It has to be sent from your school

I just looked through their website. You are correct. I didn't know Naija degree holders had to send a copy of their degree. For my own country of study, they only required transcripts. My apologies

Hi everyone,

I stumbled on this thread sometime in January 2018 while I was researching about going for an MBA in Canada and found it to be a better alternative. So I started reading the thread and I took the first step in April 2018 by sending my credentials to WES. WES took about 4months to conclude my evaluation and I finally got it on July 26, 2018.

Before the result came, I had registered for IELTS and was supposed to write in June. But alas, I was not allowed to write due to some "unusual" features on my International Passport. I thought I could get it replaced at no cost but it took 5weeks before I could get a reply from NIS requesting that I bring my passport to Abuja for examination. I concluded it was not worth the time, declared it lost and applied for a replacement. This set me back about 5 months (was broke at the time and replacement took 2months). I eventually got the replacement and informed BC. Had to pay for a change of date after spending some 70k on replacement.

Wrote IELTS in December and passed at the first attempt (LWRS - 8.5,7,9,7. 5/6,5.5,5.5,7.7 for spouse). I created an EE profile on Jan 2, 2019 with a score of 454 and got ITA on Jan 10, 2019.

I started having doubts about my application because of the date of resumption of one of my jobs. I started the job on July 31, 2017. As at when I created the EE, the cumulative years of experience I was using was 2yrs and 11months(but my score was for 3years experience. Only month and year was required for creating the profile. I assumed the system calculated with July 1) . I started considering rejecting the ITA but thanks to all those who advised against it then. I finally submitted my application on February 5, 2019.

I will like to state that, of the 3 work reference I used, one was written by a colleague on the letterhead of the company. I had heard before then that if your colleague or manager was writing you a reference, it should not be on the letterhead but I felt more comfortable having it on the letterhead. Also, one of the references was not in IRCC format as it did not state my working hours and job description. I wrote letter of explanation to the effect, and stated my job description and working hours myself and signed. The point here is to do what makes you comfortable. Like it's always said here, no 2 applications are the same.

The wait after submission was a very excruciating one but PPR finally came after 7months and 4days. Below is my timeline :

ECA :Jul 26, 2018
IELTS : Dec 15, 2018
EE Profile: Jan 2, 2019
ITA : Jan 10, 2019
AOR : Feb 5, 2019
MEP/BIL : Mar 20, 2019
Biometrics Captured : Mar 21, 2019
GCMS Note 1: Ordered in April and received in May. Security and eligibility not started. Others, passed.
GCMS Note 2: Ordered July 27 and not received
Ghost update : Sept 5, 2019
PPR : Sept 9, 2019
Passport submitted : Sept 11, 2019. Awaiting COPR.

Many thanks to all the people who take time out to answer people's questions and deposit their knowledge here. Without this thread, I would never have thought I could do this without an agent. My advice to newbies is to read as much as possible. And not to get discouraged by obstacles. They can be surmounted.

See you all in Canada! smiley smiley smiley

Celebrating small wins.

On the quest of increasing my CRS scores, I started the CIMA journey few months ago. I weighed my options then between BCS and CIMA and I found that CIMA would be the fastest, but it came with a price, "Hard work and total dedication". I just passed the certificate level (BA1 - BA4) and will start with the evaluation this week. It took me approximately four months to complete. Preparing for my IELTS now.

Whatever you need to increase your score, JustDoIt.

My school sent my Unilag foundation transcript and undergraduate transcript to WES back in July. WES acknowledged them after like 5 days, my profile was updated, Undergraduate transcript was showing "Accepted", while Foundation transcript was "Received Document Awaiting Verification".
However, after sending my statement of result a few weeks back, I received a new document update where, the status of my undergraduate transcript changed "Received Document Awaiting Verification".
My statement of result was updated to "Received Document Awaiting verification"
While my foundation transcript was changed to "Not Accepted"(Reason: The document wasn't sent from the body or institution that awarded the degree)
Try call WES. They may have mistaken your statement of result to be verification.
