I had an experience on this topic sometime last month.

I was driving by ikeja early hours of the morning (4am) while speeding, I entered mini pothole. This was followed by a loud noise, then the car lost control and hit the kerb.

My point: Right before then I knew the Tyre was giving sign of being worn out already, but I always thought I could manage.
Now the expenses I had to pay from the damage caused by the blowout of the Tyre, is more than triple the price it would have cost me to buy a brand new Tyre not even tokunbo. Penny wise pound foolish..

no vex o. Even new tyre gives away. Depending on d size of the pothole. I had a similar experience at ikeja and vi, lost new tyres in both incidents.
Ikeja... Drum hole o grin
V.I.... Gutter(slab covering d gutter was missing and water covered the gutter).
Other things were equally damaged.

Wow, sorry about that bro. It's really crazy driving in Lagos with the numerous potholes. The amount I spent fixing mine. I just parked the car for like 2weeks.

I use 175/80 or 185/70. Toks is 6k while new is 11k. I have never enjoyed toks for more than 12months. Pls, which is cheaper now.....? Penny wise pounds foolish applies in some cases. I learned my lesson and now have new tires today. I bought on loan but I've cleared it all now. Forget the model, I can compete with your car on a highway!
That's a golf 3 i guess.

I still wonder how to make the government responsible for such accidents. The speed same government sets up Traffic tribunals to fine motorists and encourage instant judgement delivery is mind- boggling. You can't get the reverse in the same time frame. Police to civilian cases and government to contractors, for instance.
