spillo1:Don't mind them. They want him to play pressing football like Man City when you have Messi who is lazy and just walks around like he owes the pitch when it requires movement and actual hard work. |

spillo1:Valverde's first season - 1st leg Barca 4 Roma 0, 2nd Leg Roma 3 Barca 0. Roma qualifies Valverde's second season - 1st leg Barca 3 Liverpool 0, 2nd leg Liverpool 4, Barca 0. Liverpool qualifies. If you watch and know much about football, you'd know it's the coach's approach that determines how the players will play. Before Barca signed Valverde why did these players not make these 'individual mistakes" that made the team bottle a 3-1 and 3-0 lead? |
| Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by IKON360(m): 9:10am On Sep 17, 2019 |
spillo1:The "fans" on this thread will not agree o, as far as they are concerned immediately Valverde stops coaching Barca, Barca will win UCL... Oh well the man will go by the end of the season so we can see how well the club will become when he leaves |

Swissh:Mr Man shut up. . Barca has been this style of football for many years until Valverde happened. |
| Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by spillo1: 9:12am On Sep 17, 2019 |
TLona1:The coach can prepare his team down the last detail and one mistake can ruin everything. When Gerrard slipped against Chelsea did the coach account for that? Did valverde tell the team to fall asleep during a corner or for Alba who has been reliable through out the season to have one of the worst game of the season. |
| Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by TLona1: 9:13am On Sep 17, 2019 |
IKON360:If you're satisfied with this bottling in the UCL, fine. Me don't want to sew anything like this again, I want the best for my club. |
| Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by spillo1: 9:14am On Sep 17, 2019 |
IKON360:It's nonsense. The way they blame valverde has no leg to stand on. |
| Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by TLona1: 9:16am On Sep 17, 2019 |
spillo1:Valverde didn't tell them fall alseep during that corner but Valverde's conservative approach to game cost us. After Origi made it 4-0, they were not even playing as though they needed a goal. All we saw was pass pass pass pass with no or little ambition of scoring. |
| Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by Swissh: 9:17am On Sep 17, 2019 |
TLona1:Nigga your head needs sense capsules. You can only play that style of football when everybody is pressing. Messi walks around with his lazy attitude. The Barca way can't be played with a lazy player like that in the team |
| Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by TLona1: 9:18am On Sep 17, 2019 |
Swissh:Barca has been playing this style over the years with Messi. At least try to make a statement or assertion that'll make you sound reasonable for once. |
| Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by Swissh: 9:23am On Sep 17, 2019 |
TLona1:Under pep he pressed and was younger then. Hell even pep moved him as false 9 to free him from defensive responsibilities because he knows he is lazy. Now he is older and just walks around. Do you think valverde can tell him to press? |
| Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by IKON360(m): 9:25am On Sep 17, 2019 |
TLona1:I started seriously watching Barca matches in 2008, we won UCL in 2009, 2010 we didn't win Inter knocked us and the way Inter knocked us out was extremely predictable despite having Xavi, Iniesta and Dani Alves and what people consider the best team of the 21st century, we won UCL in 2011, 2012 we were defeated by Chelsea under the guidance of a jjc when it comes to coaching, Torres just used nail and ended us, and that was more annoying because I'd started noticing that weakness in our team inability to break down certain teams worst Chelsea's most important defender had a red card, 2013 we were defeated by Bayern, in fact I'd call it destruction they even flogged us at Nou Camp, 2014 we were knocked out by Athletico Madrid, 2015 we won UCL with the most fearsome trident in European football history, 2016 Juventus sent us packing, 2017 Roma and 2018 Liverpool. The reason I gave this history which may not be correct but is quite accurate is because losses are a certainty in football, we had the best midfielders yet we lost to teams we should have beaten, we had MSN at the peak of their powers and we still lost to teams we should have beaten... This team isn't as awesome as Guardiola's 2009 and 2011 teams nor as destructive as Enrique's 2015 side but fans still deem it fit to lay all the blame at the coach's door... The coach is also to blame without a doubt but losing twice in UCL in a row isn't only him to be blamed, personally I think the board is making some very poor transfer decisions |
| Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by TLona1: 9:26am On Sep 17, 2019 |
Swissh:What Pep did, Valverde can do likewise. After all, Messi played false 9 at some point in time 2 seasons ago under Valverde. |
| Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by Swissh: 9:30am On Sep 17, 2019 |
TLona1:Yes tell your both 30yrs+ striker and best player to press. Good luck with that. Pep won't even take this lazy and walking Messi at City. |
| Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by TLona1: 9:33am On Sep 17, 2019 |
IKON360: ![]() Bro, there's a clear difference between LOSING and BOTTLING. The former is a normal phenomenon is football as we all understand but the latter is what every club would hate to experience. In the brief history you narrated above, there was no case of Barca bottling a huge lead to a club she's superior than. The reason why most of us are no longer in support of Valverde is because of the way he has turned Barca to a joke especially in the UCL. With the way things are now, even Mamelodi Sundonws can do a comeback against Barca. How will a big club like Barca, bottle a 4-1 and 3-0 lead in two consecutive seasons? That's totally unacceptable and that's why we want Valverdo out! |
| Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by TLona1: 9:34am On Sep 17, 2019 |
Swissh:Oh so nature has it that once you're more than 30, you won't be able to press again? |
| Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by Swissh: 9:37am On Sep 17, 2019 |
TLona1:When last did you watch Messi and Suarez play? Cus honestly you might just be a LiveScore analyst. |
| Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by spillo1: 9:39am On Sep 17, 2019 |
TLona1:Most of the goals Barca conceded were due to lack of concentration, you can't really blame Valverde for the players turning off their brains during some moments of the match. Valverde is just an easy scapegoat for you the Barca fans to blame. If Barca had scored and qualified would you have attributed it to valverde? |
| Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by TLona1: 9:58am On Sep 17, 2019 |
spillo1:If you really watched that match and saw Barca's approach to scoring, you'd know that the coach played a big role in the bottling. They played with no ambition. They were also conservative and complacent coupled with zero drive to win and poor mentality. All these were the things the coach should have worked on. |
| Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by TLona1: 9:59am On Sep 17, 2019 |
Swissh:Bro, what are you driving at please? |
| Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by IKON360(m): 10:02am On Sep 17, 2019 |
spillo1:When we won the first leg against Liverpool , those that complained, complained how the TEAM was giving up so many chances to Liverpool and how Ter Stegen was awesome. When we lost boom!!! The coach became the problem, what coach have done to stop a goal like that Origi goal that Trent Arnold assisted Origi from the corner? I just think fans just need someone to lay the blame on. If we win a match this thread rarely moves highest one page or two but when we lose, fans, FANS will be trolling their own team how?! It's really despicable |
| Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by IKON360(m): 10:04am On Sep 17, 2019 |
TLona1:Yet one of Liverpool's best players was Allisson... And many people were celebrating Van Dijk for his contribution to the clean sheet so was Fabinho's work in middle also well received... We missed too many chances |
| Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by spillo1: 10:05am On Sep 17, 2019 |
TLona1:Wait the coach should give them ambition and good mentality? The coach should also wipe their ass for them as well. Barca also missed chances in that game. If Barca had scored and qualified, will you have attributed it to valverde? |
| Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by biomustry: 10:08am On Sep 17, 2019 |
spillo1:Why do people blame buhari? Gimme a break |
| Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by spillo1: 10:09am On Sep 17, 2019 |
IKON360:Valverde wanted to trade punches. He knew he would concede chances, but he would also create chances, the same exact game as the first leg. On the first leg, he won every single coin toss, Liverpool missed all their chances, and Barcelona scored theirs, mainly because Messi played at his best. However, on the second leg, football being football, the complete opposite happened. He lost every coin toss. He thought it would end up 1-1, 2-2, 2-1, 1-2 or something like that, both teams hurting each other, and it actually makes sense, thats what it should have happened, except, again, this time he was the one who lost every coin toss. I dont blame him for that loss, but i do believe that he drifted away too much from Barcelona's philosophy. Controlling the game its something that Barcelona needs like water but yet again how many teams can do that at Anfield. |
| Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by IKON360(m): 10:10am On Sep 17, 2019 |
TLona1:Bottling, losing what's the difference? If I ask you who the best coach is now, you may most likely say Guardiola or Klopp but you also know that Klopp's UCL was this year after more seasons in UCL than someone like Valverde, Guardiola last won UCL with us since then nothing. Valverde not winning UCL is bad but blaming it on his tactical ineptitude is quite wrong cos coaches with even better tactics haven't even won the same UCL |
| Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by TLona1: 10:13am On Sep 17, 2019 |
spillo1:In every match, there are usually missed chances from both teams but at the end there'll surly be a winner. So don't use that "missed chances" narrative. "If" Barca had scored? Why didn't they score. Go ans watch how Barca played after it was 4-0 and come back and tell us what it looked like.. Maybe it's then you'd understand what I've been trying to pass across. |
| Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by TLona1: 10:14am On Sep 17, 2019 |
IKON360:Bro, missed chances isn't an excuse that we lost 4-0 |
