Firstly, let me clarify that I am not in the business of comparisons, everyone I come across is different and unique and that is the beauty of arguments/ debates. More importantly, I am not looking to flatter anyone with my opinion(s) to win subjective interpretation(s) of what is intelligent or not from others.

With that being said, I read that interview on Uefa, Skysports, and B/R (bleacher report) before I made my post and the quotes were relatively the same and short. While he spoke about English fans albeit with hesitation, he went ahead with specifics about Chelsea fans and it can be easily inferred that the first paragraph spoke in general while subsequent comments were specific about Chelsea fans and how they viewed loses. All the news sites that carried the news started out with the same inference that I made which is not difficult to deduct. He was asked about the difference between both leagues, he gave his impression before going into specifics about Chelsea fans.

"In England, there are not so many fans, people there like football and everyone, young people, adults, teenagers, are really interested in their football, but they are not so fanatical about their teams.

"When you are at Real Madrid, even if it is my first year, talking to the fans, they always expect you to win the Champions League," he continued.

He prefaced his comments on England and was careful to say "not so many fans" before delving into specifics about Chelsea fans.
