1stKing:  Try to leave freebasics from time to time. It wouldn't hurt. Nairaland can constrict your horizon as far as worldview is concerned if it's the only page you visit. Sometimes, I tend to believe that Nairaland has the highest number of blinkered posts and contributors. So, broaden your views. You should try familiarizing yourself with other sites. Don't get me wrong. Nairaland is cool but quality control remains an issue. |

Bored... 1. Quora... not so often these days. 2. well... NL. Here. Sometimes, I stay off. 3. BBC.com many of their documentaries and articles are top-notch. Just finished one on the Hanseatic League last night. It was really lengthy but worth it. 4. Reddit. Sometimes. 5. List verse and other similar "Top Ten" sites will add more as I remember... 6. NaijaStories.com once in a while. I guess I'm not so big on literature these days. 7. Errrrrrrr... will add more as the days go by. Got lots of them. I frequent here a lot because niche threads give the best reason to waste hours as opposed to dumb topics on the front page. Reddit - I signed up just to say “me too” but now the novelty has worn off and I find it extremely boring to a Nigerian mind. It has some amazing queries, answers and writeups in addition to an amazing NSFW (sexuality) section. Plague of Strength - I have to check out what the interesting mind of a weightlifter has conjured. His articles are the bomb and he has an amazing online persona. Wildmantraining.com - Yes, I enjoy exercise as my diary here will attest. This man does the impossible: combining menial labour with daily physical fitness. He isn’t large in stature but is tough both mentally and physically. Fastfingers.com - I touch type as a hobby so keep to speed using this. Typeracer.com is an alternative which helps with grammar as most excerpts there are from books. Whenever I’m truly bored I just type “prison fitness” into google and read up anything which comes up. I enjoy pushing my body to the limit without external fitness equipment. 1 Like |
