You guys destroyed the economy, unemployment everywhere, increase in crime, your generation turned this generation to political thugs, there is so much emptiness amongst Nigerian youths, some turn to drugs or fleeting relationships to fill the void.
My mum at 28 with the equivalent of a HND already was a chief midwife in charge of a local community health centre, my dad went to school on federal govt scholarship abroad and when he was done he had 2 offers in Nigeria, NNPC and the defunct NCAA (till today I still feel bad he Dido not choose NNPC), but in my generation first class graduates still look for jobs and no we are not lazy, the environment is simply hostile for us. I know some colleagues who were struggling academically but managed to escape Nigeria and in a foreign environment are doing exceedingly well, some even have master degrees while strike is still disturbing us (I just graduated tho, 2:1 plus others).

In cross river state, the government has employed thugs to oppress businesses in the name of taxation. A small hustle that was bringing in at least 30-40k in a month back before university was slammed with 45k in taxes plus other irrelevant dues,

Your generation destroyed Nigeria with their greed and callousness in selecting the leaders.

Something must be wrong with our societal values, and doctrines being propagated especially on Social media... How did we get to the point where any emotional challenge, or financial issue, suicide becomes an easy option??!.. Everyone is just typing RIP, and moving on as if it's nothing new... This is not the Nigeria I knew as a child, not the negroes I saw growing up... Are these the set of spineless individuals we are left with for the unborn children to look up to??!... This trend is beyond worrisome!!!

.I agree with you largely that youths are now getting increasingly easily depressed and suicidal,I also understand why it seems childishly stupid to see,read or hear about full grown adults opting for the easy way out of things,the fact of the matter is that our core as beings is changing so are our actions and reactions to situations.i know depression,I used to think I could handle anything but here I stand trying to understand how it all got this bad. Suicide isn't an option for me at least for now but when all is down and after life has been ruined by ones choice or by the actions of others,Death sure looks like a jolly way down the hole.Am taking my time to type this hoping it will help some of young persons who truely want to gain an understanding of this situation gain some insight.The choices we make to live through our future or die in the past.
