nku5:I don't have time to be answering a dumb question. If you don't know up to 10 legacies Fashola left behind, then your blindness is beyond redemption. Go back to your village and fix it first |

Myhusband:Calm down, and read with comprehension... It is indubitable that Delta state is poorly ruled and developed, but does that mean we should use that as sufficient yardstick to give a supposed mega city a pass for mediocrity??!... Think sir, THINK!!! |

sogodihno:People like you are the reason why Nigeria will never move forward because you put tribalism over common sense. I am from the middlebelt for example, but I was born and bred and still living in Warri, Delta state. I pay my taxes here and invest in the economy of the state as an entrepreneur, are you saying that because I am not an indigene of Delta state I shouldn't criticize bad governance in the state? Equally, there are so many Deltans and Yorubas living in my state of origin (Plateau), some have been there for generations since the time of tin minning in the precolonial eras to the extent that there are parts of Jos dominated by Yorubas. Are you saying that I who has no single economic contribution or do not pay any tax to Plateau state government should shush a Yoruba man who invests and pay his taxes to Plateau state when he criticizes the state government? The gbagyis of FCT lost their ancestral lands for you and I to enjoy the modern amenities of Abuja. Infact, migrants from all over Nigeria including your yoruba people are now turning Gbagyi villages and towns to overpopulated slums just because they cannot afford the costliness of main Abuja and choose to live in the neighbouring villages. At least the Yoruba controlled government of Lagos state enjoys the taxes of every migrant, do the gbagyis enjoy any state tax in Abuja? Hell no. Other people pay greater sacrifices for one Nigeria, but some of you yorubas are more selfish and think about yourselves only. People like you deserve to be born in the era of cavemen and cavewomen. You do not belong in the modern world. I wish your children would see this comment of yours. Cc SLAP44 |

eph12:This topic doesn't affect Lagos State alone but so many states in Nigeria have a visionless governors.... But maybe because the op lives in Lagos State so he can talk about Lagos State ... What about ogun, Kogi, abia, Delta, kaduna, zamfara etc... You can hardly see development in those state.... And we have governor tat collect tax in this State... So ,how are they spending the tax payers money ? How are they spending federal allocation? |

Misterdhee1:Lagos does not have tap water or good roads and Fashola does not have one legacy. At least Tinubu with his agbero kingdom style of administration pretended to have a master plan. Oya enough internet for you. Go and read your social studies textbook jambite ![]() |

Myhusband:Ohh Please... You would have to actually qualify to breathe the same air I do... A person who responds to rebuttals by first cancelling what was typed against him lacks the moral standpoint to accuse anyone of arrogance. You should work on your poor ability or inability to comprehend simple written grammar before you "brag" about governance and development: terms you can't even begin to fully or truly grasp... If you truly saw the 4 walls of a tertiary institution (I kinda doubt it), then you should go back for a refund. Please, don't tempt me to respond to you further... I am way removed from your pathetic level of reasoning. Thank you. |

Lagos was privileged to be the base of the Colonial Masters during colonial rule. Lagos was privileged to be the Capital of Nigeria for decades during Military rule. Both the Colonial masters and Past Military Head of States invested heavily in Lagos in terms of infrastructures more than other states. Lagos is privileged to have the Organised Private Sector (particularly Multinational Companies), investing in infrastructures in most part of Lagos - especially on the Island. Other States did not enjoy these privileges, which are prerequisites for development except for Abuja. Funny thing is Lagos is the smallest of all the states in Nigeria (in land size) but it generates the most Revenue. 80% of the major roads and bridges you see in Lagos today were built either during the colonial era or Military regime. About 2 decades into this present civilian rule since 1999, despite all the huge revenue from IGR and federal allocation, Lagos is still a glorified slum. |

If Lagos is cursed then 95% of Nigerian states are cursed, bewitched and zombified...lol. The problem here is that the government is too big and the population is too large for such a small geographical area. It's the same problem cities like New York, Los Angeles and Atlanta face on the daily. In LA, if you're not careful you can spend 5 hours or more in traffic, even with all the advancement and oversabi citizens, traffic jam is their curse, homeless people full their streets and taxes, omg taxes, let's just say yearly taxes can send people back to their villages if not careful. The point is simple, despite falling short of our expectations, LAgos still remains one of few states in Nigeria that actually represents the hope of the people. States like Ogun/Osun/Ekiti, many states in the East and majority of the North can only dream of emulating. |

godfatherx:Ambode brought untold hardship on people please. If Ambode in four years completed Badagry road it would not be like that today? He did not touch the place because of his endless battle with Fashola, who was in the same party with him. He had a legacy of breaking up everywhere and not completing any. He had a legacy of poor refuse collection. Please forget this Ambode talk. He was the worst of all the governors ever that led Lagos. |
