Please help me, my 02 avalon is having issues. My area is usually flooded after any rainfall and most times I swim the water flood with the car to go home.It doesn't fire well and it breaks before it picks up speed. My mechanic is saying I will have to loose the top to work on the valves, but I don't trust his analysis. I need more advice, please

Has that kazeem scanned your vehicle? If you area is water logged, simply buy a vehicle with higher ground clearance...........

Buy a basic scanner, they are not too expensive.

I am sure a place to scan, would be available in the east........

From little experience, if a car is hesitating and loosing power, the engine may not be getting adequate air. You should try to clean or change your air filter and also clean the mass-air flow sensor. This can restore engine power if there are no issues with your engine.

OK, thanks for the suggestion. But I don't think is from the air filter, cus it doesn't climb hills as well, though I recently changed the fuel pump

We are saying the same thing. Your engine is loosing powe and since you've dealt with fuel, the next is air. If ur air filter is okay, try to clean the mass-air flow sensor. There is a special spray cleaning fliud for that or you can use electronic cleaners also. It doesn't leave any residue after drying

Forget the assumption bro, get a car scanner and find a way to decode it. I had issues with my Camry some months back and after much assumption from different angle I decided to opt for the scanner and it didn't cost me much to fix it perfectly after decoding the issue.


PS there are lots of good and promising Nairalander here who sells the equipment. Yours is to test for familiar spirit and not fall into a scammer trying to feather his own nest

Go to becon auto in owerri, and get ur car scanned... And stop the try and error style...
