Tops of the day!
Nairaland wears a brand new skin. shocked

I just want to briefly talk about the noticeable changes:

1) No more underlines everywhere.
This underline is really a thing with almost anything clickable on NL. Seeing the lines disappear actually makes a lot of sense. The texts are more readable.

2) Centralization removed in Forum listing
It's obvious too that the section listings are no more centralized. I actually think this is cool and it makes sense.

3) A lot of background changes. This is for the technical audiences. Mods are now more effective and some security features have been added. CoRs for example.

I'll add other changes I see. No time.

Cheers Seun cool

I prefer the old looks, though, as it was much more bolder! undecided

In fact, the whole new look appears like a butchered and shabby job!

Whoever came up with this new UI should be flogged! This is 2019, not 2002. We can do better. The new UI is painful to the eyes

Well,, I don't read NL from my browser. Even top browsers like Chrome don't do much to protect the reader's screen wrt eye glare, stare and long hours of reading protection... I use booksrite001 's app. It solves all these with the Dark Theme. And it retains the underlines too. You should try it.

We shouldn't need dark theme to read threads on nairaland

Of course. You're right.
However, many people are reporting that the new look hurts their eyes. You might not be affected. But do you have any solution?

If you have a solution, then we can compare with the Dark theme and see which serves the users better. Else,

The UI is painful to behold. The design needs to be overhauled.

Nope. Still don't like some aspects of it along with many others on the forum. This is what I miss most: The demarcation lines between posts especially on the homepage. Everything looks clustered and bland with this new interface. Evolution is important and I totally endorse positive change and constant improvement but I still feel some key features should stand the test of time especially the ones most users feel more comfortable using. I suggest you take a survey or use some other viable means to decipher what features users miss a lot from the old interface. Cheers!

TBH, I prefer the old look, though it may be because we are wired to resist change both good and bad.
Also, please look into other issues like new set of emojis, chatting features and others. Thanks

Seun please bring back the separation lines back, we are straining our eyes to read through the topics. I'm sure most nairalanders want it back.

Also, please help change my moniker to "boye or "boye33"

Thanks.

Sir I am okay with this skin. You are doing a great work with this forum. A forum of fora, that's what Nairaland is now. With this freebasics I don't even need to buy data anymore. I don't need my Instagram, Facebook and to endlessly surf again. Because with Nairaland everything is brought to me.

Apart from those bet naija odd which is gradually reducing. I usually report rule no. 9 anytime I come across that advert on a front page post. And some irritating sex advert which needs to be addressed.

Nairaland is a world of it's own. And in this world you cant please everybody. But with periodic opinion poll you can help grow Nairaland into a more popular worldwide brand. Because as it is Nairaland is already a world wide brand.

Have a blessed day Sir

A lot of people (including myself) said that it hurts the eyes when reading for extended periods which we always do.

I suggest u should activate dark theme or some sorta dark or not too bright background. It would go a long way in helping us.

People said that when we changed to the previous design. It's purely psychological, in my view.
