I am yet to see any Federal road that they will raise the toll plaza on in both SS and SE. I wonder how a human being will raise a toll in Calabar-Itu highway, Aba - Ikot Ekpene road, Calabar - Ogoja - Katsina Ala road, or the East-West road that till today has not seen the light of the day.

You want to grab money from every angle by all cost. And that end, it ends in the pocket of few individuals.

This has been my argument. The system of corruption has not been defeated. The govt needed to reduce corruption in govt first, before coming down to the masses. The govt officials are too powerful, looting anyhow and practice nepotism and favourism more than anything else. This money comes in but goes back to the pockets of the elites. They are already well paid. What this govt needed to do was to do a lot more in the area of tax targeting rich individuals to limit their acquisition of material properties. But no, they keep stiffing life out of the masses. What happened is that corruption shifted from the people looting it before to a new set of people!

This country needed to first ensure our of us are captured digitally, profile of Nigerians, make every aspect of govt digital, remove all analog way of doing govt transactions and contracts bidding. A corrupt country like Nigeria will make her citizens suffer the more when too many levies and tax are paid.

Well, i don't think this is the right way to go, Toll Roads have always been a form of regressive taxation; that is, compared to conventional taxes for funding roads, they benefit wealthier citizens more than poor citizens.

All these taxations because you were asked to pay 30k as minimum wage. 30k that is not even upto $100.

Good one. Buhari seems to be doing well in some instances. I am only sorry for those Nigerians that love and stand by Nigeria, come what may, but not for those that keep calling Nigeria shithole. For such people, America and the West are presumably Cake-holes. Well, shit is free if you’re not constipated and Cakes expensive. For Nigeria to become cakehole, Nigerians have to put up with taxes. In Cakehole Nations, people are taxed within and inch of their lives and in fact the very air you breathe is taxed in the form of congestion Tax. Since Nigeria does not appear to have sophisticated architecture to collect tax, leading to majority of Nigerians living tax free, Nigeria has to collect taxes in these basic ways, which are nevertheless effective. Nigeria government should improve roads, Toll them, utilising some of the money raised for maintenance and increasing Police salaries.
