Genre: Crime, Drama, Thriller

Now that's how thrillers ought to be written. A slow burner though, but chilling and thought provoking. I was literally held spellbound from the beginning to the end & I must confess, that twist......that twist at the end, i never saw it coming. Acting & directing were superb.
Who do you think was looking out for Adam? Was it God? Was it a supernatural intervention by dark forces, or was it mere coincidence ??

DC is mad. They repackaged two old films as one new one.

The animation was good but I didn't realise that I had seen the movie as two separate movies.

I'm glad you liked it. Malvo is the kind of fella that will light a fire, then sit back, and watch the world burn. Lester is just an idiot. Both got what they deserved in the end. Karma's a bitch.

You could argue that Adam and his dad were undiagnosed schizophrenics, and you'd be making a good case. The fritzy security camera and Adam's correct accusation of FBI guy being a murderer could be mere coincidences.

Alternatively, Adam could really be a hand of God, and was really killing demons.

Theists will be inclined to go with the later, while the atheists will probably lean more on the former. Personally, I think it's a little bit of both.

The very first part when Adams Dad spelt out the task God gave him & subsequently, that shenanigan act( so I thought) of his whenever he touched the demons in human form , i was very much convinced that it was mental disorder of some sort. Nevertheless, my confusion cleared at the end of the flick when he touched the FBI agent & saw the vision of the crime the guy committed of which he told nobody & also with all the other visions he shared with his dad. There & then i pieced the whole puzzle together. I think God really called them(Adam & his Dad) to be his hand & those individuals(demons) they killed really deserved it, as it seems they were all unrepentant killers, including Adams Dad who became a killer the moment he killed the Sheriff.
For the fritzy security camera, I passed it initially as mere coincidence but changed my mind the very moment the other FBI agent who shook him & a whole list of others stated that they couldn't recall/recognize who he was.

1408 (2007)



A really underrated film

It's decently shot. Overlit at times but it still looks nice. The acting is pretty good with an exception of the actress that plays the protagonist's wife. She really brought the quality of some scenes down.

But, other than that and some weird directional decisions, it was a solid film. I really enjoyed the premise of it: having fears and horrors from your past that haven't been dealt with coming back to haunt you and choosing to either deal with them or ignore it and give up killing yourself.

Apart from lacking subtlety here and there, I think it was filmed properly. Perfectly paced, and really good dialogue for the most part, and (again), has flaws, but compared to other movies (especially the recent ones) in the horror genre, it should have more recognition in my opinion

PS: If you're a claustrophobe, you might find this movie a little too provocative....

Funny you fell bait for that, Seeing as the names are kinda similar to the 2018/19 releases.

As I saw the poster for the movie I jakpa straight up, it was like Deja vu. I knew it was a combination of the two part film : Death of Superman and Reign of the Supermen.

Damn, over the top jaw dropping action. Beautiful pop corn action flick.

Although the movie seems to be drifting from its roots becoming a global crime fighting or Espionage movie instead of the jaw dropping RACING STUNTS it's known for.

Brilliant addition of Idris Elba. And that Vanessa Kirby, gosh she's a beauty. Mehn, that British Accent!!!

Prepped up for the sequel.
