Governor Nasir El-Rufai says the gunmen who kidnapped six female students and two staff members from their hostels at the Engravers College in Kaduna state yesterday October 3rd, have made a ransom demand.

Briefing newsmen on efforts being made to rescue the abducted students, the governor who spoke to journalists in Abuja today, said the suspects have made contacts with parents of the abducted students demanding ransom for the release of their wards.

“They have made a demand for money and that is being negotiated,” the governor said

A mother of one of the kidnapped pupils says her daughter called her earlier today with a strange number, weeping and pleading for her to do all within her power to rescue her.

“My daughter called me early Friday morning on a phone number I didn’t know. She was crying and sounded frightened.” the distraught mother told AFP in an interview

The state police command says it is working to ensure the safe return of the pupils.

The worst nightmare of every parent, would be to hear the voice of their child, calling from the phone of a kidnapper, in terror.

A single phone call of this nature, could cause a heart-attack, from the sheer horror of that reality.

Kidnapping as alternative means earning is reigning now..ours so call government or securities are helpless,the citizen and many innocent so are confused...the elite secured themselves...

It is very possible d midget governor can arrange this kidnap to cash out some money from the state fund as ransom payment to his boys

Why will they punish little children just to subject them to their madness?

There should be a clear cut law against kidnappers, rapists and "yahoo-yahoo" people eg, kidnappers earn 25 years in prison. Rapists (esp children rapists) earn, say 35 years. Yahoo Yahoo, say 10 - 15 years.

Imagine the evil, terrible news some people will wake up to. I can't even begin to imagine the trauma the children and their parents are going through.
And to think that they might rape some of these dear girls...gosh!

May God punish all those involved in the kidnapping of these dear children.

PS: I just saw that the ransom is a whooping sum of #50 million. Where will some parents get it?

And it will make it look like kidnapping is a flipping legitimate business.

But on the flip side, those children need to be extricated from the hands of those very useless kidnappers ASAP.

Lemme indulge in some fantasy.
A micro tracker should be planted carefully in the ransom money.
When the girls are safe, the army should deploy born again drones and wipe out those fools.

This will serve as a strong deterrent to others.
