The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) said it generated N115 billion in September, the highest so far since the closure of the country’s borders. The Comptroller-General of Customs, Hameed Ali, disclosed this when he received the All Progressives Congress (APC) chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, in Abuja on Thursday. Mr Ali explained that since the closure of the borders, the revenue being generated by the service was increasing on daily basis. He said there was never a time NCS generated the revenue or much money like it realised in September. Mr Ali said the measures taken had compelled those who used to smuggle things into the country to go to the ports and pay necessary duties. He said the aim is to ensure that the closure is sustained up till January 2020. Mr Ali said the main objective of the border closure was to ensure that neighbouring countries complied with the ECOWAS protocols on transit. https://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/top-news/355884-borders-closure-customs-generates-n115-billion-in-september.html? Fantastic result! Without CG wearing uniform. Those that wore uniforms stole the revenue. At this rate, Nigeria makes almost US$1 billion every quarter period. OVER TO YOU WAILERS! |

This government has been making lots of money. Stolen funds have been recovered in billions. No corrupt official dares MOO come closer to government. We can now budget trillions of naira, twice what the previous rogues used to budget. Now custom revenue has increased. Government is generating revenue, right left and centre thru increased VAT and so on. so my question is... What is the money being used for? why is there so much unemployment? Where are the infrastructure the improve revenue generated has to show? Why are our roads never maintained¿ Why h as there been no noticeable improvement in power generation and transmission? In short, what have they done with the MONEY? |

From what ? This govt and self deceit !!!! The Border was closed due smuggled contraband goods like rice so where is this new revenue coming from? Are you saying Nigeria customs is now collecting Tarriffs on contrabands at the sea ports ? What is responsible for this hike ? Don't tell me cars because 90%of cars already came through the ports before...this is how FIRS lied it had set records in revenue Generation only for Chief of Staff leaked memo to burst it ... And further more if I vet these bogus in dollars and compare to Jonathan era you will see Jonathan customs actually earned more . |
