Jonathan was a big disaster,

i had a friend in the Special forces of Navy SBS and was sent to the north as at that time to fight Boko haram, he said whenever they were being attacked and needed airforce support, the airforce simply told them that only the president can authorise an airstrike, and he is not available.. he said presidential order for airstrikes sometimes took 3 days after the attack, and by that time the boko boys were far gone

He also said during Jonathan's Maladministration, they were given a special Glo or Etisalat sim (forcecomm) that enable Force members to call each others freely after paying monthly fees from their own pockets, instead of providing standard military commuinication gadgets and radios... however unfurtunate for them Boko haram got to know and started blowing off telecommuinication mast at all location and they where blinded from outside world
