They needed to be alive to be rescued by the acclaimed Muhammadu Buhari administration. Where they dead from firefight during a planned forceful rescue, none would have been alive to be rescued later.

All these haters of Jonathan wouldn't have shown understanding if an attempted rescue went bad and claimed those lives.

Only wise hearts can comprehend the necessity that gave birth to that decision. Not for chicken brains grin

I don’t know your level in life but let me assume that you work in an office whether Government or not. If one out of the several units under you was burnt down overnight can you look the other way or won’t you care? If you answer the above question in all honesty then you must have come nearer to a picture that GEJ May have been through any time one crisis rock any part of the country. Can you say that Buhari is not doing anything about BH? Has he been able to overpower them? Objectivity is the key to sound political judgment.

i remembered very well that time when the British guys said they sighted the girls and wanted to use force,that is where gej disagreed with them.
it was only Israelis that successfully staged a rescue mission during operation entebbe.
later the US tried to replicate their own version in Iran during Ronald Reagan administration but failed,the Iranians now separated the hostages and took them to various locations.
the government of Reagan later paid ransom to for the hostages to be released.

Have you held a public position before, even if it is SUG and one student die in a road accident or riot, how do you feel. Whether GEJ was dancing that day or not. David Cameron is telling us what most of us already know.
Lest we forget late Gen. Aziza's infamous expose' that, "PDP was Boko Haram and Boko Haram was PDP," (for which they killed him shortly after) and GEJ's lame excuse for being soft on Boko Haram, in which he identified them as family, particularly as his siblings; and the diversion of billions of dollars meant to fight the terrorists to campaign funds for his failed re-election bid; lest we also how forget how he (and his wife PEJ) initially doubted and dismissed the kidnap as opposition propaganda - therefore delaying any rescue mission for days until it was too late.

i had a friend in the Special forces of Navy SBS and was sent to the north as at that time to fight Boko haram, he said whenever they were being attacked and needed airforce support, the airforce simply told them that only the president can authorise an airstrike, and he is not available.. he said presidential order for airstrikes sometimes took 3 days after the attack, and by that time the boko boys were far gone

He also said during Jonathan's Maladministration, they were given a special Glo or Etisalat sim (forcecomm) that enable Force members to call each others freely after paying monthly fees from their own pockets, instead of providing standard military commuinication gadgets and radios... however unfurtunate for them Boko haram got to know and started blowing off telecommuinication mast at all location and they where blinded from outside world

I understand your points and they are valid as well, no doubt about that.
But come to think of it, do you think Jonathan would have wanted to forsake those young guys in the battlefield without any political undertone? That is to communicate to you how deep our security system has been damaged, we do everything for the money, politics and selfish interest.
To be realistic, how can a war commander in the midst of great battle tell you that he needs to get authorization from the president or from whosoever before they strike back at any enemy? Do you believe that there wouldnt have bn standing order for such scenarios? Are you telling me that if that particular Commando that wanted to get clearance from the president was in the scene where the enemies were attacking or approaching, he would need to call Jonathan to seek for approval? common, I dont believe that excuse and i can never believe it!
Jonathan has his weakness tho and one of them (which eventually disgraced him out of that position) was in the fact he did not have the firm grip or control of our Armed Forces back then and it was difficult for him to achieve desired result. I pardon him for that, the pressure was much and he was helpless!
Mind you, even Buhari that retired as General in the Army, doubles as former millitary Head of State is finding it very hard to fight the corruption in the NA, that's just the truth.
