The project was started over 15yrs ago. It has nothing to do with the present governor but everything to do with Festus Odumegwu. The former MD of Niig. Breweries who used his office to influence the the movement to the east.

He is attracting investment by his policies and infrastructural development as was tacitly reported in the positional improvement in the ease of doing business and ease of starting business.

This achievement were reechoed by the Nigerian breweries boss who happens to be a non partisan assessor.

This points should be enough to sway your criticism

no bro, he's doing no shit..Nigerian breweries has been in 9th mile for a very long time, I remember how they even share beer to Ngwo villagers during festive period, ...you can not come to the king without bowing or greeting that's what the ambassador exactly did and nothing more, Ugwuanyi is not performing, he's only good in committee formations...Go to Uzo-uwani and see how Fulanis have colonised there and the villagers always running from one time to another due to rumours of Fulani herdsmen..he needs to sit up.,time for merry has gone

Have we not had enough quantities of breweries and distillers in this country?

I think such industries do more harm than good.

Though we need more viable industries in our lands but certainly not breweries.
Villagehead reasoning indeed.

They should shift to Anambra state please. Enugu is already saturated.
What? How is Enugwu over saturated?

We need more industries for youth employment but definitely not breweries in Enugu State.
More than enough alcoholic drinks already in circulation, with attendant social vices.

Dpharisee:
If Nigeria Breweries want to take back their market share in the SE and SS, they should put the logo of the rising sun on their bottle labels like Sabmiller did with HERO beer. This is free advise cheesy
That Rising Sun symbol means a lot to the average Igbo person as it signifies strength and belief in oneself to surmount and conquer all obstacles, it gave them hope during the Biafra war and seeing it on any product makes them to feel that the sacrifices of their people still lives on in their hearts.

Any product that carries the Rising Sun symbol will be a sellout in those regions believe you me, this is business strategy
Sabmiller? That south African company? How come you guys didn't protest against their products during the last xenophobic attacks on Nigerians?
Hypocrites. You want to grow a south African company at expense of a full blooded Nigerian company.

Anambra state owns 11% stake in SA Miller and Interfact breweries

Nigerian Breweries is the largest company in Nigeria after Dangote Cement. Its market value is twice that of Guarantee Trust Bank. It is very valuable, how much more 'viable'.
Well, now you know.
