Those guy's words pierced my soul, he may have been innocent and a victim of false witness by someone who wanted to get rid of him.

The case file of this guy should be reopened, I have a strong feeling the military junta killed an innocent man here.

Imagine Lagos-Ibadan expressway, Lagos-Ore-Benin highway, Abuja-Kaduna highway, etc are now death traps all because of these criminal bastards!!

Imagine how kidnappers have chased successful people from going back to their various communities to invest and develop the communities all because if you dare, these useless criminals called kidnappers will kidnap you or your relative after you do....

Nigerians can be very funny. Seems a lot of posters don't understand Nigeria's history. Ken Saro Wiwa died in a similar manner, over a thousand more were killed in the same manner in the military era. There's nothing strange or new about the video.

Death sentence is not out of place btw in a country lik Nigeria. The military perfected the act of killing people unjustly, and that was very very wrong. With proper trial, however, Nigeria needs to reintroduce death sentence for armed robbers, kidnappers, and terrorists.

I just hope he is not innocent, his blood will forever cry for vengeance.

In 1992 I was sentenced to be shot by firing squads for a crime I did not commit. I remember when the judge read the sentence I did not understand the gravity of the sentencing. My lawyer Barrister Imafidon God rest his soul looked quite worried, he promised me he was going to appeal the sentencing but I remember looking at his face, I knew all hope was lost. We were 3 men sentenced for same crime, I made a terrible choice, I paid dearly for it, but I didn't deserve to die for that.

Fast forward on the 3rd of April 1993, the faithful Saturday night, they warden sent in 2 priest to keep us company, that night seemed too surreal, sitting, shivering in my sweat. One of the priest was dozing, the other one was consoling the Danny boy the youngest in the gang who had been wailing throughout the night. Dedon glues the eldest of us all stood throughout the night staring out at the window, from that's window he was taken out and shot on the 4th of April.

I remember Danny boy ran mad that night, he bit off the fingers of the priest. It was a night of what ifs and regret for me. For the first time I appreciated the gift of peace of mind watching the second priest doze. I sat on the floor the whole night, I urinated on my self and didn't even notice. I remember vividly when around 4.am the burgled called and the soldiers began their morning parade, I had prayed that the night should not end, that the world should end, that this should be a dream. I maimed myself sleeping in a bed maybe with a wife. I thought of my family, my parents...

Immediately after the parade ended, I could hear the soldiers come upstairs and dragged Danny boy, the young chap cried like a baby, Dedon glues stood by the window like a statue, he didn't move. I heard them give orders and shot the poor boy, samething happened for dedon glues, they had to tie Danny boy, but dedon glues requested not to be tied to the pole.

Before all these, our lawyer had bribed the soldiers to aim for the heart or head, if you didn't pay bribe, they would suffer you by intentionally shooting at your limbs.

After dedon was shot around 4:50 am, I waited my turn, I had stood up, although I was not at peace with myself, I felt suicidal, I was ready to die. I made up my mind I would laugh while they shot, I suddenly did not care if I loved or died. After an hour the soldiers didn't show up, 2 hours no soldiers, 5 hours no soldiers, around 3 they finally came.

To cut story shot, instead of taking me to the parade ground, they took me to the brigadier office where a small crowd of prisoners were being interviewed, when it got to my turn, The brigadier asked me the crime I committed, funnily I beastly responded that he had my file and thus look it up himself, he calmly explained that if he should go with what is on my file which is the trumped up charges and verdict of the judge then he would ask his men to beat me to death. He told my story and asked him to tell his men to be quick if they were shooting me on that day. The man looked at me, and told me to leave his prison. While leaving I saw then loading the dead bodies of my friends that had been shot in a pickup wagon.

He was shot 12 times..the way he was talking it seems to be innocent... Today crime are more sophisticated than what he might have committed..

From his speech the man died of intimidatoons. But I am very sure those responsible for it also are no more today.

He words sounded like he was framed up. I totally doubt if that man committed any crime. Its like the father in-law never wanted him to marry his daughter so had to set him up. And many policemen participated in the shading of innocent blood. So many generations will keep suffering for crimes they father's did.

You spoke my mind......Makinde's videos about the past can break the strongest of men.

We take a lot of things for granted in this country. We are a weak generation. Weak in doing the needful for our betterment and weak in principles. Life isn’t for the sentimental. If a man kills one million people (as long as you don’t see him do it) we tend to have sense of pity for the person. The law takes its course n even if it’s jungle justice we begin to pity the person.most of All the developed world have capital punishment. You rid the society of evil people n save people from being potential victims. But in Nigeria everything Na God. Governors won’t sign the executions of death row victims because...God. Those ones wld remain in prison until released to go n commit another crime. Nigeria is its own problem. Nothing is working or taken seriously.

This video brings back great nostalgia of the public executions of the military years.

For us, it was an act of patriotism to watch our country being rid of people who were against it's greatness.

We watched in keenness.
From watching them marched out of the Black Maria, to being prepared at the stake of drums, then having their last words taken and final prayers given.
Some took their coming doom in good faith while others cried like babies before the volleys of bullet from the soldiers shut their mouths up for them.

I always looked forward to going to Coal camp in Enugu back in the days to watch those live executions.
I was so passionate that I remember not eating for two days just because I missed that of Mamman Vasta.

In retrospect,
It wasn't about patriotism, I was just becoming a psycho.

Did you hear him say only him and his God knows about his innocence?

These where the military days when you are considered guilty as a suspect and locked up until proven innocent, not the other way round. God save you if you can't prove your innocence right from your prison cell. If you have enemies who are ready to bear false witness then your death is sure.
