Institutions can do something about this , maybe lecturer should only be allow to lectures and not set exam or mark script since everything is down to syllabus. Once their power are reduce to lectures only. All these non sense will reduce.

The Sex for grades is an issue that can never be put an end to in Nigerian Universities.

Because 1-the lazy females on Campus,who all they know is to slay...They could spend all their time on Fashion and can't even stay reading for just 30 minutes.

The Ladies who are victims of these are also very well interested in it...Some will even tell you it's so so lecturers that can pay my money and all.

You can never see a lecturer seducing or disturbing one of the best females in class!

Something as simple allowing students to evaluate their lecturers anonymously will solve the problem. In the US and Canada students are given a form to evaluate their lecturers anonymously. With this, the pressure is on the lecturer to perform and help student to succeed. That's the way it should be. Instead in Nigeria, lecturers take pride in failing their students or making life difficult for them. What crazy mentality is that.

First you need to understand what a university as an institution of higher learning represents. First is academic independence. You can't take that away from professors or lecturers. They set the content of the course and do the marking. But in return you give some power to the students to be able to give anonymous assessment of the lecturer performance.

sex for grade seem to be d trending topic and everyone seem to only lash the lecturers, no one should get me wrong am not in support of the idea and moreso if you want to bring down a tree you take it down from the root,, what do you expect when you walk into a lecturer's office in a skimpy dress requesting for something way beyond his capability(abi na im b admissions office or d book wey u suppose read); he either sends u out or asks for sometin in return as a compromise. The question is what will he ask for or will he just freely do something he might end up getting in trouble for.

Take his matter to Professor Adikwu the Vice Chancellor. That will be the end of that story.
There are even some Lecturers in that Philosophy and Sociology department that have that tendency too. I'm sure most of them will pipe low until after #Sexforgrade tension has gone
