I would consider it as a catastrophic air defence failure if they fail to learn from the failure.

Actually it was a good lesson given the Saudis were able to restore their infrastructure which got hit in a matter of days and as a bonus the Saudis have been forced to realise that the deficiencies in their air defence.

In a poker game u never show u r best hand early in the game .

Here also whoever attacked the Saudis showed their capabilities prematurely and for what gain considering that the Saudis r now wiser and will plug their air defences deficiencies and most probably up the overall capabilities of their air defence systems.

I consider the attacks to be a insider hand job. Houthis don't have the technical capability to carry out pin point strikes at such long ranges.

Anyways

War is a culmination of failures and successes .

What is of significant is the ultimate goal of the war - winning the ultimate objective

Sandbags r to keep the optical fibre cables of the remote launching system in place , the pic is from a testfire exercise where the missile was launched remotely. This is a standard procedure during testfires .

According to a senior official the U.S. has determined that the missiles fired on a Saudi Arabia oil refinery on Saturday were launched from Iran.

But for some time Saudi Arabia has been having internal problems.. in February a police station in a town in Saudi Arabia was hit by 6 rockets and the police station was leveled. I believe that it was Islamic state or the houthi rebels.. they are penetrating Saudi Arabia from Yemen

The S400 is badass. Not even the F35 can beat it. You could have successes against the S300. The 400 is more of an improvement. Also, Assad is more interested in IS not Israeli aggression on his tuff.Remember, some of Hamas's rockets do beat the Iron Dome. No system is 100% effective.

Russia are now planning on the S500
and the Avangaard system which are even more nuts. No one beats the Russians on rocket technology!
