Ecstasy154: All the work Obasanjo and Ngozi Okonjo Iweala did to take Nigeria away from the debt trap misery of poverty & underdevelopment has been rubbished by Buhari. Buhari is borrowing mindlessly because he does not care about the future of Nigerians nor the well-being of Nigeria. It's so sad that the future Nigerians will be even poorer than this generation! Even as we are already the poverty capital of the world today! 1 Like |

solmusdesigns:Thats your own assumption, from where I am standing in my street there are 98 houses on my street and are all on Prepaid, D|IS|Cos do not estimate bills there. just so you know this guy owns more valued companies than DISCOs and his bid was legitimate no-padded bedding plus I can tell you the DISCOs are at a loss this is why some of them refuse to take power supplied by GENCOs. |

well corruption cant be ruled out, however we still need huge capital investment in infrastructure,.. when UAE was borrowing up and down and begging, Nigerians were laughing hard, but now we are heading there to hustle emmaskyblue: |

the issue is not borrowing, but what are you doing with the borrowed money. if you are using it to invest on infrastructure fine. like the Abuja - Kaduna Rail which is generating lots of funds for the country |

The agreement was for them to provide meters and transfomers, yet we still buy it ourselves, they do nothing but charge surplus.. double face meter now cost 70k, the power they refuse to take from GENCOs is being sold to Benin Togo and chad while they give excuses erico2k2: |

solmusdesigns: If power would require $10bn to execute and let us say the govt have 5% of the fund - $500M as well as the land and the technical team (ministeries and co) to survey and make detailed feability reports. Then rather than borrowing, the government can announce such plans and invite Nigerians to become investors (co-executioners) who would profit from the profits the project would ever realise. We have money in this country. I won't be suprised if the govt would raise this money, realised this project. Zero borrowing. Minimal inputs from foreigners/foreign bodies. But there is still a problem. A fundamental Nigerian problem - how sure is it that the govt. would be fair and won't renege on the agreement. This too is a factor that would affect external borrowing. Only this time, they would take us to thier impartial courts and have the whole project taken away. So if you asked how is it to possible to build without borrowing, this is a really practical step. And by the way, I am not a dunce. 1 Like 1 Share |

solmusdesigns:With time these will fade and they would be forced to do the needful. This was where we at with NITEL back in the days you come to their office in my area its very dry and we get light pass everybody cos they need us to recharge. Nowadays if transformer bad nah only dem dey come repair/replace. Privatisation was a good thing but bad management and inadequate laws are undermining it, market forces would intervein soon like in the telecoms sector. |

solmusdesigns: Oh, hahahaha. I like people like u. U guys always blame everyone but Buhari and his govt. So bad. If I'm coming into power to be paid with tax payers money and taken care of with tax payers money, I must come with solutions. If I don't have solutions, I shouldn't come and earn tax payers money. Nigerian leaders are well paid. Their entire family members are taken care of in everything they do for free. So they must provide solutions.. I'm not the one to do so becus they are not paying me part of the huge sum they enjoy. Nigerians don't even understand that leaders are paid to solve their problems. If u knew he sold them to his friends and there is nothing u can do to solve our problem, why contest election to be paid with tax payers money? It doesn't make sense. No wonder black countries are still backward. 1 Like |
