Our debt to GDP is very fine, Our debt to Revenue is quite fine, all developed countries borrowed thier way to progress

Yes nigeria borrowed to complete Abuja-Kaduna rail, however its annual turnover and profit after expenditure is in the range of several billions

Our Infrastructural deficit stands at atleast $50 - $100 billion USD, if lagos to Kano rail cost $5.6billion, and Lagos - Calabar cost withing that range, rail alone needs 20 billion, while power needs $10bn, and roads, Ajaokuta steel plant and other project needs $30billion, 2.3 bpd crude oil sales with IOC taking 40% wont give us revenue fast enough to develop when our population growth is 3%

To the Dunce qouting me, why not suggest another financial plan for FG outside borowing, since our revenue is constant at 2.3mbpd crude oil sales we share with oil companies and our Population growth is 3% yearly

The nation’s total public debt rose by N3.32trn in one year to N25.7trn as at the end of June 2019, the Debt Management Office said on Tuesday.

The Federal Government owed N20.42trn as of June 30, 2019, while the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory had a total debt portfolio of N5.28trn.

The debt stock is made up of N8.32trn ($27.16bn) external debt and N17.38trn borrowed domestically, according to the DMO.

The nation’s public debt, which stood at N22.38trn as of June 2018, increased to N24.39trn in December 2018 and N24.95trn in March 2019.

The Monetary Policy Committee of the Central Bank of Nigeria noted last month that the rising public debt was one of the headwinds to the nation’s growth prospects.

The Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Mrs Zainab Ahmed, said in August that the country did not have any debt challenge but a challenge with generating sufficient revenue.

“There is a lot of insensitivity around the level of our debt. I want to restate that our debt is not too high; what we have is a revenue problem. Our debt is still very much within a reasonable fiscal limit. In fact, amongst our comparative countries, we are the least in terms of borrowing,” she had said.

All the work Obasanjo and Ngozi Okonjo Iweala did to take Nigeria away from the debt trap misery of poverty & underdevelopment has been rubbished by Buhari.

Buhari is borrowing mindlessly because he does not care about the future of Nigerians nor the well-being of Nigeria.

It's so sad that the future Nigerians will be even poorer than this generation! Even as we are already the poverty capital of the world today!

They should start football betting if they don't know what to do. Is there any year the nation didn't meet up with oil price bench mark in the budget? The issue is corruption not all these economic figures.

I HAVE TRIED TO HOLD ON BUT I MAY GIVE UP VERY SOON

If this is the best life can offer to one for coming to earth, then I wouldn't wish even my enemy to come. Whether you die today or later, death is death. Also, everything has elastic limit and I think I've reached that point as of today. I've tried my best, I have endured but I can't continue like this anym. No thanks to that unfortunate day that brought me to this condition. Thank God I didn't bring forth any offspring to come and suffer what I'm passing through. I have no way to go to and before my things will be thrown outside, they will also have to remove my dead body from the room. It's a promise! This might not be the best decision but it will bring an end to all problems in life. As for Nigeria and Nigerians, you can only help who is still alive, not the dead. If you can help me now, please do, not after the news filtered everywhere, then RIP rains. It won't help the dead in anyway. My mum will cry and everybody will cry but they will all be fine afterwards. Mum, I know only you could help me but since you don't have the means, no problem. I believe your small business will sustain you till whenever heaven will call you to leave the earth. Everybody will cry but they'll be fine after a short while after all, I won't be the first to do this. If I am faking this for whatever reason, why not leave me for Karma?

I NEED HELP. I SERIOUSLY DO. I CAN'T CONTINUE LIKE THIS ANYMORE. I MAY HAVE TO GIVE UP.

For anyone who wants to reach me can do so with this number. 08102581687

LIFE IS UNFAIR!!!

If you truly believe suicide is an escape from your tribulations, go and gulp sniper asap.
But if you believe that your tribulations will make you stronger and there is light at the end of the tunnel, then man up and keep surviving. Your will is yours!

If power would require $10bn to execute and let us say the govt have 5% of the fund - $500M as well as the land and the technical team (ministeries and co) to survey and make detailed feability reports. Then rather than borrowing, the government can announce such plans and invite Nigerians to become investors (co-executioners) who would profit from the profits the project would ever realise.

We have money in this country.

I won't be suprised if the govt would raise this money, realised this project. Zero borrowing. Minimal inputs from foreigners/foreign bodies.

But there is still a problem. A fundamental Nigerian problem - how sure is it that the govt. would be fair and won't renege on the agreement.

This too is a factor that would affect external borrowing. Only this time, they would take us to thier impartial courts and have the whole project taken away.

So if you asked how is it to possible to build without borrowing, this is a really practical step.

And by the way, I am not a dunce.

With time these will fade and they would be forced to do the needful. This was where we at with NITEL back in the days you come to their office in my area its very dry and we get light pass everybody cos they need us to recharge. Nowadays if transformer bad nah only dem dey come repair/replace. Privatisation was a good thing but bad management and inadequate laws are undermining it, market forces would intervein soon like in the telecoms sector.

Oh, hahahaha. I like people like u. U guys always blame everyone but Buhari and his govt. So bad.

If I'm coming into power to be paid with tax payers money and taken care of with tax payers money, I must come with solutions. If I don't have solutions, I shouldn't come and earn tax payers money. Nigerian leaders are well paid. Their entire family members are taken care of in everything they do for free. So they must provide solutions.. I'm not the one to do so becus they are not paying me part of the huge sum they enjoy.

Nigerians don't even understand that leaders are paid to solve their problems. If u knew he sold them to his friends and there is nothing u can do to solve our problem, why contest election to be paid with tax payers money? It doesn't make sense. No wonder black countries are still backward.
