Nigeria is surrounded by french speaking countries so am not surprised. The main countries funding bokoharam are: chad and Niger. Especially chad. These things are obvious but the Nigerian govt is ever gullible. Idriss Debby stopped an offensive dat would have ended bokoharam during jonathan's regime but yet our new president will never learn. Bokoharam will never end until Nigeria take action on the republic of chad |

The North deserve boko haram because they incubated religious fundamentalism for years. This's just the effect. Since the 80's people from other parts of Nigeria have been killed up North in the name of religion but nobody raised an eyelid. In nature, you get what you deserve. Reap what you sow. |

Those agencies majorly exist to witch-hunt for any government in power. If the fed government is sincere this bh fight would have since ended, but they are not, both past and present administration. They are only interested in playing politics with it to the detriment of the vulnerable masses. RussianKGB: |

Kingsean:@kingsean On point Sir! To capped your comment, check history during Biafra war & Bakassi Peninsula crisis with cameroun, some discovery were made. France as a former colonial masters to all West African Francophone countries , supported Biafra soldiers with supplied & logistics in terms of weapons & ammunition. Do you know their aims? If Nigeria - an Anglophone country - with so much power in the midst of French speaking countries can be reduced to size if Biafra breakaway, then one of their own will now be calling shot in the region. Also, the same game played out in the Bakassi saga also, it was discovered that some of the weapons and ammunition used by cameroun, but captured by Nigeria soldiers originated from France. So, I agreed with you 120% about chad & Niger intrusions, but we should keep our eyes on the remaining neighbouring French speaking countries. France cannot be trusted, even with all his allies in the world. Thanks! |

fitzmayowa:Get some understanding on this matter and stop flogging a dead horse. This whole "tech" eish is now a bore and should be discontinued in serious discuss. Yes Nigeria "technically" defeated BH between Jan - July, 2015 by degrading them considerably from territory holding organized forces to a trickle of hit-and-run bandits. The new government boasted too early of a defeat and they were wrong. But why turn this into an everlasting gloat against ourselves. Remember that even George Bush declared "Victory" against Al Qaeeda back in 2003. How well did that go? It was in 2015 that the original BH disintegrated into different factions; same ideology but different controllers. That was when the rumour was rife that Shekau was injured and possibly killed in an internal fight. Apparently he is still alive, from all indications. But BH was never the same again. One group metamorphosed into ISWAP and pledged allegiance to ISIS. They were being smart. Shekau, thou weakened then, still controlled access to local money and could snuff the rival groups out with time. Today, the belief is that ISWAP is almost entirely foreign funded and that it's senior commanders are foreigners seconded from the Middle East and Saharan Africa. The confirmation of the presence of oil deposit in the lake chad basin and multiple mineral resources in the Zamfara-Kebbi-Katsina axis seem to be escalating the presence of a whole lot of foreign interest in the North of Nigeria. The bulk of the new players seem to be pre-existing privateer forces from among Fulani, Tuareg, Kanuri etc forces from places like Niger, Chad, Burkinafaso all the way to Mali and beyond. Even then, what this article is saying is that these forces appear to have backing from bigger global players (powerful governments, big businesses or rogue entities) with sinister interest on Nigeria. We are in deep excreta if we don't find ways to nip this in the bud. |

If in this 21st century the government can't track the funds and get to the root of the funders, the fundees and the funded, our fight against insurgency in this country is all a big joke! |

post=83215945:I say a big AMEN to your prayers And I also add: Including all those in power collecting huge sums of money for security and are diverting it for their selfish and wicked reasons. All those supporting those who have failed in their responsibilities to secure the nation, especially those who are very much aware that there is evil in the land, but will launder their masters dirty images, May God punish their generations. May the evil they support never depart from their household. May their families be peaceful as they have told us Nigeria is. May men tell their ladies the kind of "truth" they are dishing out to Nigerians. So shall it be, Amen and Amen, AMEN. |

Too bad we still dont know that it is the western nations led by US sponsoring Boko Haram. Where do you think that the six mine-resistant armoured vehicles recently captured in Taraba were being smuggled to? And yet we ceremoniously gave them back to the US. Our problem is that we are afraid of the western nations |

It took them this long to figure it out? No militant group without any foreign backing could last this long. Not to mention the endless supply of sophisticated weapons at their disposal. |

dreality:You have no evidence to back up what you are saying. Enough of these misinformation and baseless assertions. Islamic fundamentalists are not known friends of the west and especially the U.S. Afghanistan, Somalia, Yemen, Libya, Syria, Iraq etc. Any country with a significant number of muslims and a weak government is their target. |

Boko Haram will never get to an end until Niger delta oil money is exhausted. let the northerners keep using Niger delta oil money to enrich themselves on the pretext of fighting insurgency. crude oil is a non renewable resource, one day it will finish. |
