Calling Out Domainkingng Hosting Company For Affiliate Fraud! by Brilliantdad: 10:23pm On Apr 22, 2019
Hi Nairalanders.

I'm calling out domainkingNG for an open explanation of their affiliate earnings reductions and refusal to payout.

I know this is a popular open forum majored by Nigerians and most of us here use domainking services.

I have been part of the domainking affiliate program since 2016 but I'm beginning to get pissed off.

I was invited to join the domainking affiliate program in 2016 after I bought my first hosting with them with an offer of earning up-to 80% of reffererd sales (which has never happened).

I have referred few people (about 10) to buy hosting service from domainking with my affiliate link since I joined the program and there's not been once domainking paid out my affiliate earnings in full.
They will always cut it down by about 50% when I request for payout and must find sick reason to cover their actions when I ask.

That not being the case.

Recently I referred a new user and earned #4.5k with their affiliate program. Due to how they denied deducting my earnings the last time I decided to take a screenshot of my dashboard before requesting for payout.

After requesting for payout they didn't give me any reply and after 2 days, they deducted the earned figure and left me with #2k.

I confronted them with the screenshots I took earlier and they apologized saying that their system miscalculated my earnings earlier. Blatant lie, I must say.

I accepted their apology (maybe because I can't argue it) and asked them to pay what is left and they went silent again.

I emailed them again after four days asking them what the delay was for and they apologized again and asked me to send my account details which I did.

From that day up until now, I have sent them several reminders which they will always reply with an apology mail asking me to exercise patience.

15th of April, I sent them an annoying reminder and they sent their "useless" apology mail again followed by another email in which they informed me that they have sent my payment and I should wait for 24 to 48 hours to receive it (Ordinary transfer that can be completed in minutes. Maybe the money they sent is trekking to my house physically).

Most annoying of it all, I got their automated email today telling me that they are changing the support ticket I raised for the affiliate withdrawal to "closed" while I haven't even received the payment.

How can I be requesting for a payment scheduled to take a maximum of 48hrs for close to a month (March 31st to date) and yet payment has not been made and they expect me to keep sending them reminders? Is this not very unprofessional?

I decided to follow this to the end despite the fact that it's a little sum involved. We need to call out the bad so it ceases to happen.

Is there any other domainking affiliate here? Have you had any similar experience?

I'm calling out domainking for an explanation.

PS: You are free to blog this with the screenshots attached. I need domainking to answer to this properly.

DomainKing is not straightforward. I could remember when I bought a Soldier Plan and mocked a before-fourteen-day refund as they claimed. These people deducted more than seventy percent of the original money and asked if they should process the remaining thirty percent! I was amazed!
.
I also noticed a certain downtime in midnight during my use of their services. Their refund policy is 'just for the records.' People recommend BlueHost.

Bro stop doing affiliate for Nigerian hosting. Refer your friends to a foreign hosting firm where payment is guaranteed. I can't understand why after all the previous scam they did to you you still refer them.

It's embarrassing to find a hosting company as "big" as domainking messing up this way. I referred this last one so I can follow their mess up and here it is.

This is all I need. A detailed explanation.

They sent me a mail this morning but it is just one of there "useless" apology mails. It doesn't explain anything.

Hi Nairalanders.

I'm calling out domainkingNG for an open explanation of their affiliate earnings reductions and refusal to payout.
Hi Okpara,
I am Rahul from DomainKing.NG.

We are really sorry to know that you have not yet received the withdrawal of your Affiliate Commission & for other issues that you are reporting.

I cannot express how sorry we are & I too would be really angry with such a situation. But I want to clarify & assure you that your commission has already been cleared from our side.

I've also sent screenshot of the proof of payment clearance from our end with our gateway.

I want to add that we have a very transparent record of clearing all the commission in the past within a week for all our affiliates (which you can verify by talking to any of our affiliates) & we take such matters very seriously. You should get paid for what you deserve without delays & we will never do anything to change that.

So I humbly request you to please not jump to any conclusions & give us some hours to look into with our gateway as to why the payment is not yet received by you even though we have sent it almost over a week ago.

Also, I want to clarify that we offer 25% commission with Baby Geek plan hence you received N1850 commission in your bank & we are really sorry for any miscalculation that may have caused the confusion on the commission.

Any commission that you request is always cleared once your send us your details, and you had sent to us your Bank account details on 10th April in your case, and your commission was cleared right after then from our end.

It is really bad that you have still not received the payment & we too are angry and disappointed to be in such a situation where you feel let down, but I can assure you that it is not from our end since we have already sent it.

We send the payments through our gateway partner Voguepay (they say that they take 24-48 hours which is why we ask you to wait for this time). And any delay at their end also delays things for us.

I'm checking with our gateway, since the payment was made through them & we have to check with them to find out why you have not yet received the payment even though we instructed them over a week ago to transfer it. I'll get back to you with the further feedback in my next reply really soon on the same ticket.

I request your patience during this time.

Feel free to contact us if you have any further queries or need any further help. I'll be really happy to answer all your queries.

Best Regards,
Rahul

Those guys should not be greedy na. If you can afford full payment then promise what you can pay. It is better than all those BS discount they use to attract first time website owners. Except you mess up, most people would stick with their first web host company.

Domainking are scammers. I bought web hosting from them and they disabled by site in less than 48hrs. They claimed they searched for my name on the internet and couldnt find me on social media so i am fake and within 24hrs my site was gone. Avoid domainking if you love yourself.

They should have contacted you first to prove your identity. I suspect you were hosting a .com.ng or a .ng domain name, that is how our local regulators act. If they could not verify your identity when you paid, they shouldn't have collected money.

That is ridiculously expensive. I use to be an idealist that wanted to patronise indigenous host companies. I started using DomainKing because they are fuqin *RELIABLE* and *CHEAP* nothing else.

I use other Nigerian web hosting too. I only quit Gigalayer because they sent me a newsletter that they would increase price because dollars exchange rate has moved from 180 to 200 naira and we should vote for change (Buhari). As soon as my hosting expired, I changed because of their useless politics (this was Jonathan era). Now that naira is over 350, I don't see those Buhari loyalist charging higher price because it would not be sustainable and they would go bankrupt.

Bottom line; I hope they maintain professionalism otherwise, na to dump them for better alternatives.

Hi Faceland,
Thank you so much for your honest feedback. We really appreciate it.

Please note that we do almost always contact the clients before taking any action on a complaint, and it was the same in this case.

In cases where the client is clearly using the website for abuse like Phishing (which is a serious crime), we take immediate action. And we request that you should not support any such person without facts.

We hope that you would understand how serious an abuse issue is without coming to conclusions, and how unsuspecting users can fall victims to such abusive website owners who try to take advantage by claiming ignorance & innocence for their wrong actions.

We have very strict stance against any such abusive users, and we request that you too should not support any such scammers.

Anyway, it's between the two you. I am sure if his activities are legitimate, he would find a way to correct the situations through the appropriate channels.

If someone took down my website without warning (when am not doing anything wrong), I would go into full blown war mode grin But according to you, he allegedly broke the law.

Hi Faceland,
Thank you so much for your honest feedback. We really appreciate it.

We can assure you that we always appreciate & love our genuine clients, and we always try our best to over-deliver. But at the same time we have the responsibility to make sure that such abusive clients don't use our services for their illegal activities, which is a big concern for any genuine provider.

We take that responsibility very seriously as these bad clients can affect other clients as well. So we make sure to actively track such abusive websites & take strict action against any such clients.

Once again we sincerely appreciate your concern on this issue, and I hope that I was able to clarify any concerns that you may have.

Best Regards,
