You didn’t answer his question.

Yes, Nigeria with its huge uncontrolled population is a potential market but that does not translate into ‘Ghana relies on Nigeria ‘ .

Fact is , currently not much trade is going on between Ghana and Nigeria and Nigeria does not give Ghana free oil so your statement has no head or tail.

The trading potential between African countries has been realized hence the formation of the African free trade zone which would be meaningless when countries begin to close borders rather than finding other means of solving their problems.

For instance Nigerian immigrants are currently a huge nuisance in Ghana and we would like to throw them out in a second but we are trying to find other alternatives of dealing with them.

Same way you are being a huge nuisance to your masters America which has now cost you $190m dollars over ‘unwarranted’ PDS termination

https://www.myjoyonline.com/news/2019/October-22nd/ghana-loses-190m-us-money-over-unwarranted-pds-termination.php?fbclid=IwAR29sjKzTqwRvbf_M1tWfUKBbm8Na7J2XuBipy7nhpmvtQXRVXq3HJJSMUA

Go and cry over that as you think of how you will Punish America cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy

I have a better idea. Can nigeria close its seaports and airports as well? So that nothing enters and nothing leaves? Is it true that nigerians can leave their country through the closed borders but foreigners are not allowed to enter Nigeria through the land borders? If indeed this is true, it smacks of crass hypocrisy grin why allow your citizens to leave if you are not allowing others to enter?

Isn't it obvious? we are tired of leeches feeding off our government.

Pure crap! Foolish talk! I expected something more sensible and intelligent cool you claimed Ghaba relies on Nigeria for survival. Tell me how Ghaba relies on Nigeria for survival and spewing crap. I expected you to name the goods and services you export to Ghana, without which Ghana will collapse. Very simple. Why is soo difficult to give us simple statistics? For example, Nigeria exports rice worth $500 million to Ghana a year. Nigeria exports cars worth $1 billion to Ghana etc etc. that is what I want to hear
CaptainMeks:

Nigeria is the biggest economy in Africa and Ghana relies on Nigeria to buy a lot of her goods. The fact that we agree to take your goods from you and PAY YOU shows how much you depend on us to push forex into your economy through trade.

Your country relies on Nigeria for survival and this is why they are gnashing their teeth today at the border closure. Even your deputy Minister said Ghana needs Nigeria more than Nigeria needs ghana.

Nigeria gains so very little from ghana while you gain a great deal from us. This border closure has exposed all you mushroom countries who feel you can look down on Nigeria.

You have 28m people let them drink your Kasapreko products as well as other produces which you refuse to ship through the seaports.

If Kasapreko can say they have lost over $2m so far then imagine how much others in Ghana have lost.

YOU ARE DOOMED UNTIL YOU BEGIN TO SHOW US SOME RESPECT.

It is a temporary pain. If Naija unemployed youths are wise, they better go to farm. Buy or lease 5/10 acres of farm and plant anything. Oyo state is leasing for 3k Naira per acre. Sales and Profits are sure if the border remain closed for another 6mths.

Rajman45:
Those people supporting the border closure ( myself included) should also have it in mind that we the Nigeria masses are also suffering from it.
Due diligence was not taken before closing the borders. Prices of goods are skyrocketing right now in Nigeria and truth be told, it will only get worse.
I pray that all the countries involved should act quickly and efficiently resolve the problem.

in 2018 Ghana bought Nigerian exports valued at over $240m while Nigeria bought Ghana imports valued at just $61m which is 4 times less than what you bought from us.

The one who buys more from the other needs the other more. Ghana needs nigeria more in order to survive while Nigeria honestly does not need you to survive.

When you buy over $240m worth of our goods while in return we only patronize $61m worth of your goods then Imagine what would happen to your country if we refuse to sell those goods to you. Your death as a nation would be slow but sure.

Nigeria closed her borders because her neighbors are smuggling things into the continent's largest economy.

Until they get their acts right, the borders remain closed.

Unfortunately, we Africans are too foolish for our own good. what exactly does closing a border solve! If anything it will continue to make us weak and poorer than we are now. Just look at the European Union, they have a free an open market, and while not perfect, they are far more capable of fending off attacks from other non-EU countries. They're adding value to their individual countries.

We'll continue to languish in filth an poverty until we realize we need each other to prosper.

While we close our border, other countries around the world are busy making trade deals and creating new markets for their goods and enriching their citizens. We'll continue to be a laughing stock of the world. Useless African buffoons!

Did you even think about what you just wrote? If someone wanted to smuggle , why would they do it through the border? If they are, then perhaps the customs officials at the border aren't doing their job properly. The solution will either to change them or charge them to their job.

In 2017, Ghana's total export was valued USD 13.835 billion. Making export Ghana's export to Nigeria is less than 2% of Ghana's total export. It's important but still very tiny part of Ghana's total export. Regardless I think African countries should be working to complement each other not fighting. It's just plain silly.

Ignorant fellow. Nkrumah was just another ghanian fool who wanted Africa to be just one country with him as the leader. No wonder he was killed like a rabbit. Whether you admit or not Nigeria has played more pan african role than ghana on the continent, ghana is just that bitter side kick in the corner with no usefulness. Even Zimbabwe played a major role in apartheid fight than ghana. Very useless people

Nkrumah wasn't killed, he died of cancer. Nkrumah rightly saw that Africa's best chance of prosperity was to stick together and act as single unit based on the United States model. Without that Africa is going to be torn apart and have it's resources eaten by the "vultures". That is exactly what is happening now.

African has the most resources but we are poorest continent. I white man will buy a bag of cocoa for almost nothing, turn it into choclate and sell it for 10x the price he bought it for.

There is no guarantee for Ghana having what Nigeria is having. no guarantee it will be fine.

Ghana who have oil, do you know how many percent is for government? It is 10%.. I think Gold is Similar.

You might have all the resources in the world, the question is : are you the one managing the affairs of that resources?

Note: it is not always by the resources, we are beginning to see some African countries who do not have the resources yet are doing well.. Rwanda is a perfect example, Seychelles, Mauritius...

cars are very expensive in Nigeria, we dont export cars nor rice..meet your neighbours(Togo and benin)..

Nigerians export so many things such as the financial industry (banks, insurance etc), IT, automobiles spare parts, electricals , oil and gas, Nigerian student in Ghana..

Note: These are made in Nigeria products or services I am telling you..

Let us take one sector out.. Nigerian student in Ghana, if these people are to reduce, Ghana will shake.. when Buhari came to power, he made dollars not available in Nigeria, stopped foreign transfer of money.. Nigerian student could not pay fees, had no money..You need to see Ghanaian school management thinking for alternatives..some went to Nigeria to see if it is true. Some do not know if they were to stop Nigerian students from school..That time was hell... just imagine, this was the educational sector alone, think of what will happen to Ghana economy..it shaked..

To tell you the truth, Ghanaians needs to do something for their economy..they need to run their affairs, there should be entrepreneurs, there should be industries run and owned by Ghanaians..
