kenzosky:It's a good point. However, you don't need any approval to have a fire fighting truck. But I guess, it's the charge/fee that will cause some discords between those affected and the private firefighters. |

Everybody pls stop blaming politicians for fire service. Nigeria is being failed at a lower level. I know politicians were/are the cause of most of the ills BUT please people are actually getting salaries for these services that they are not delivering. |

Chicastle:Simple.I think private fire companies is the answer to solving Nigeria fire issues, since notting under the Nigerian government can be trusted when it comes to reliability and efficacity, and as we all know fire is not something to joke with. To set up a private fire company,if that's what you want to know, all you have to do is purchase your vehicle and equipment and personal safety gear your fire fighters will need, buy items such as water tank, chainsaw, non be wood saw o, and hoses from any fire fighting supply company. You can examine some of their used trucks, you will also need pumpers and some aerial equipment such as long ladders and if possible a quality used air craft like an helicopter. After set and done, advertise your company on television and social media with the number to call for such services, Thats all. |

kenzosky:When it becomes profitable to fight fire, there is a serious danger in terms of the resulting consequences. Trust me, it would breed professional arsons. You don’t want anything like that in Nigeria where security is a big challenge. Nobody want a situation where they would be sleeping at night and someone sends an evil agent to go and ignite his house. |

oglalasioux:Back you rebuttal by pointing out the valid flaws instead of some pointless fallacy. There are some service that are exclusive domain of the government, like policing and military. As a matter fact, most cities with limited budget combine fire marshal and the police department. |

Thought there's fire service office at Awolowo Road, abi e no dey function again? |
| Re: Transcorp Building In Ikoyi, Lagos On Fire (Photos) by sonnie10: 11:08pm On Oct 26, 2019 |
Jimi24:Is it their salary they would use to buy fire truck and petrol to drive the truck. Is there even enough budget for fire retardant chemical used in their operation. Most organizations are like fish, once the head is rotten, don’t expect anything from the body. When there is little or no budget for administrative and operational purpose, the employee cannot do much. |

sonnie10:Nigerians almost police themselves. You talked of military. Have you heard of civilian JTF in the North East? The idea of having private fire fighting services is good. You should know that in developed societies, government's function is 80% regulation not direct engagement. While developed societies don't have private fire fighting services, we need it here where government is only interested in sharing oil loot. |
