Football is a players market.

What makes you think Willian will accept one year when other clubs will be willing to give him three. China/America will give him four.

This is his last chance for a long contract. Why would he take 1 year contract, reducing his ability to get a longer contract when he is 32 after the year expires.

Let's engage our brain commercially. The days of offering a 31 year old 1 year contract is over. That can only be used for 34/35 year olds.

If Chelsea does not come up with 3 year contract, Willian is gone.
