A $50m-turnover Food And Retail Empire: Learn How Nigeria's Ebele Enunwa Did It by Anambralstson: 9:45am On Nov 11, 2019 |
In 2004, Nigerian Ebele Enunwa left the corporate world and jumped in at the deep end of the business world as an entrepreneur. Sundry Foods, a Nigerian food service company, was born. The vision was to fill a gaping hole in the hospitality sector in his adopted town of Port Harcourt, a city of nearly two million people at the time. This thriving and fast-growing metropolis is the capital of Rivers State, one of Nigeria’s 36 states, and the heart of the country’s oil and gas industry. The business he built from scratch has grown into 30 restaurants dotted around Nigeria with another 10 in the pipeline, a corporate catering business with over 12 contract catering locations and two factory bakeries in Port Harcourt and Lagos by mid-2018. Ten years later, he caught the entrepreneurial bug again and launched another company – Sundry Markets. The new venture, larger and more complex than the food business, is a grocery retail chain that has 12 modern supermarkets up and running. Both companies employ over 1,700 people and will generate close to US$50m in revenues in 2018. “The journey hasn’t been easy and Nigeria continues to be one of the toughest operating environments for entrepreneurs in Africa, which adds to the cost and stress of building and managing a business,” says Enunwa. But there is no turning back and he has his eyes firmly on the future. https://book.howwemadeitinafrica.com/blogs/news/a-50m-turnover-food-and-retail-empire-learn-how-nigerias-ebele-enunwa-did-it 4 Likes

Zooposki: Please what tribe are you ? why i am asking is that there are people who would rather lose their mind , lose their lives than to watch an igbo man prosper. They have gone to every step humanly possible and humanly impossible to make sure igbos never succeed, but they have lost out .The Igbo spirit never says die. 11 Likes |

VICTORCIZA: Why don’t you also post where I have bashed other tribes too., especially the Yorubas. Why don’t you also show the uncountable posts of me supporting the Igbos and Nnamdi Kanu. You guys like playing the victim too much and support a single story. No wonder people don’t take you guys serious and don’t want to be in your Biafra. Grow up. |

Just thought of buying the book (https://www.amazon.com/dp/0620818433/?coliid=I12ZHXP68OGANZ&colid=17FSMSCV4I4LB&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it) and decided to research a random Nigerian name which landed me on his page only to meet the usual tribalism. Chai! Well, I am not surprised as I have always considered the term - detribalised Nigerian - to be an oxymoron. 1 Like |
