Former governor of Lagos state, Akinwunmi Ambode was not favoured to seat for another term as governor of Lagos state having lost the primaries to Babatunde Sanwoolu. Like his predecessor, it is only normal for Ambode to want to go for a second term, particularly considering the fact that he started some major projects which he hoped to see completed. There have however been several reasons as to why Ambode wasn’t favoured to represent the party for a second term in office. Loud of all the reasons was because of his major fall out with National leader of APC, Bola Tinubu. The reasons stated below are however, the real reasons behind the fall out and majorly why Ambode wasn’t favorited to run for governor for a second term. The news actually confirmed that there was a fall out, but Tinubu was said to have forgiven Ambode. That however wasn’t enough for Ambode to get the party ticket to run for a second term as governor of Lagos state.
First is as regards the 22 roads constructed in alimosho during Ambode’s regime. Ambode refused to award any of the contracts to former Osun state Governor Rauf Aregbesola and some others. Aregbesola is fondly known for turning osun state to a ‘construction site.’
Ambode under his regime insisted that the contracts awarded to party leaders under Fashola must be executed before they can be awarded new contracts.
Ambode wanted to phase out ‘danfos’ and area boys from the streets of Lgoa and introduce a smarter means of transportation without area boys and ‘agberos.’
Ambode refused to pad the budget with 10% for house and assembly members led by Bayo Osinowo and Mudashir Obasa.
Ambode refused to grant the concession of 4 th mainland bridge to Bola Tinubu’s Hitech.
Ambode refused to increase the amount of money being paid from the state revenue to Tinubu through Alpha Beta from 10% to 20%.
Ambode developed Epe, which was never in their master plan.
Ambode refused to use Lagos state funds to finance Osun state elections.
Ambode opposed Tinubu’s succession plan, which will see his son, Seyi Tinubu becoming governor of Lagos state after him. Initially, the plan was to have Seyi Tinubu as the party’s candidate, not Sanwoolu.
This probably explains a lot. Sanwoolu has nothing to offer because he will be stooge and Lagos will suffer. Ikorodu Agric and many others places have already started the suffering. Tinubu with cabals is also a major problem of Osinbajo....He can't rule this country, or else he will owns the country and agberos will be kings.

The rainy season is gradually ending, let's see his performance in the dry season. Sanwo-Olu was Commissioner og three different Ministries in Lagos so I expect that he has more experience in Lagos government than any governor Lagos had in the past. Let's give him a chance to prove himself, if he does not prove himself in the dry season, we will kick him out after 4 years, there is no time for nonsense

You are a party man ...Ambode worked more than any Gov in their first four years in Lagos...Ambode did many capital projects , infact Fashola first team was beautifying Lagos, before Fashola left , all the BRT busses were like old molue, Ambode came and fixed everything, infact the last time I went to Lagos I droprd my car for AC BRT buss, never been so in Lagos, Ambode fixed the ikorodu road, change oshody to abroad , we all know the politics for.denying Ambode a second time , I don't have any issue with that if the present Gov will cover up, but u people to come online to rubbish all his good works maybe because of your pay master he fought with is what I don't like and the only thing I can tell all of you is that the way you are rubbishing Ambode efforts and good works , SO SHALL PEOPLE, DISGRACE AND RUBBISH YOUR GOOD WORKS AND EFFORTS .....AMIN!!!??
