MTN 1500 for 3.75gb is SCAM

I successfully did a N1,500 data on Saturday 9th November, 2019 through *131# and it is meant to expire on 9th December, 2019. However, after two days usage, I checked the data balance and noticed the expiry date as 20th November, 2019. I wasn't bothered, because I might exhaust the data before the stated date.
To my utmost surprise, MTN denied my access to this data since Tuesday 12th November, 2019 without a reason. My data balance is displaying "unused monthly data 2583.26. expires 20/11/2019".
I have called their customer care agents several times with each giving a different complaint ticket numbers without resolution.
Please Nairalanders, I need your help on how to resolve this.

Yes, I still have over 2gb as it appears from the data balance, but I can't use it.

Hmm. Go to their office. But the time you could waste there is probably not worth the data sub. Did you restart your phone?

Yes, I did that several times.

Well, their service sometimes have issues, but it's usually resolved after a few hours.


Try changing your network to 2G only, then 3G and if your phone and sim is 4G enabled, try 4G only.


You can also remove the sim from your phone, replace it with a Non MTN sim and start up the phone. Then remove that sim and return the MTN sim back, and see if this will fix the issue.

You can also contact them on Facebook instead of call. It's easier to follow up that way, and they won't keep giving you new tickets

Thanks sir! I have done this several times and the issue is not resolved. My phone is not 4G enabled, InfinixHot7.
I will explore the facebook option and see how it goes from there.

Guy your sub hasn't expired but it is unused because it has passed the normal 7 days ultimatum to use.
Once u subscribe for a new week or monthly it would be rolled over but if you don't subscribe it would be removed finally by MTN
Normally once a subscription isn't used b4 the ending date MTN removes it but they started giving we customers grace like you are enjoying now.

The sub hasn't expired yet, I did the sub on 9th Nov. 2019 and its meant to expire by next month 9/12/2019. I am not enjoying any grace oo, rather they are denying my access to the data
I paid for.
