Solomonwise1:Calm down. You either apply simple security techniques or tell your boss to do so. 1. Tell your boss to install CCTV camera: one is OK. It can cost as low as fifteen thousand naira with 2 channel DVR. 2. Make sure your shop has iron door bars in case of forceful entry. 3. Be very vigilant when going home. 4. Know the kind of friends you keep. 5. Don' keep cash in an open area. Have a safe room for important valuables. 6. Always take a detour when going home and look behind you always. 7. Pepper spray is very important too. Have the numbers of your DPO. Check my blog for your security and safety needs at www.securitymattersafrica.com |

It's not wise to keep such amount of money in the house - 500k, 1m. If you are into such business, when it 3:30pm you should go to the bank and deposit the money gained. Keep atleast 50k to run the business for the rest of the day. |

This business is a very risky one , dunno why people are rushing into it. It's too risky and not worth the risk, imo. |

Seriously, everything is wrong with that business. I kept wondering when Nigeria became that secure that individuals can now turn to minibanks, announcing to everyone that they keep huge cash at home. I can't even patronize them for security reasons: who says fraudsters can't device a way to scan people's card details when they insert it? The business model is dangerous to everyone — the owner and the customers! |

HowDareU:Don't keep cash in open area? Running an ATM at home is simply announcing to everyone that you keep cash. |

There is crime all over the world. Home attacks, shops etc. But something must always be done. We should be vigilant and battle ready always as NPF is not ready for shit. You can have daggers, whatever for self defence at home. Safeguard your homes with whatever you can. Defend to arrest and expose. And let's commit our strategies unto God almighty and that we should not experience such because it can be awful. I pray our governments wake up to real developments over budget developments. Good road development and network, town planning will aid security. |

homody:human rights activists will not comment or defend the rights of the victims who are helpless in the the face of our overwhelmed security forces. No one cares about the rights of the POS operators and families whose lives are badly traumatised and businesses destroyed. The day the frustrated people form a vigilante catch and kill the robbers ....those human rights will appear and begin to defend the rights of the robbers.......i think the residents should wake uo from their indifference and slumber and protect their communities. |

homody:50% or more of the proceeds of this crime will go to women (the girls the robbers are trying to date/impress); men are useless! |

RamseyBolton:Of course. There are criminals in every country, no matter how well off. But we're talking about the explosion of crimes like kidnappings, home invasions, stealing by civil servant rank and file, people joining Boko Haram, online fraudsters, one chance, etc. These types of crimes are increasing in Nigeria. Most of it is because people don't have jobs. Example, since Donald Trump came to power, crime rate has fallen in the US. That is because Trump's policies has reduced unemployment rate to about 3%. |

backnbeta:Good luck finding your way to a senator's house, who have armed guards. BTW, do senators stash money at home like POS operators? What is a thief going to get there? |
| Re: Robbers Target POS Operators In Ogun State by backnbeta(f): 6:36pm On Nov 18, 2019 |
unikwa:So, you think it's better they just Rob ordinary hustlers? They should double their effort and go take from what the bigger thieves have stolen from the poor masses. There is no way they won't get valuables from them... it's not all about the cash ![]() |

Nostradamus:So true! That was exactly what happened during the French revolution: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/French_Revolution All the leaders embezzled, and taxed the citizen heavily. Hunger and poverty ravaged the land, while the leaders lived in obscene opulence behind massive stone walls. The people endured. Until they could take it no more. The French people stormed the king's palace, and tore down the walls. They killed the leaders, and forcefully seized power back. Nigerians are among the most tolerant population in the world. But I doubt this suffering will continue forever. They leaders will either have to fix the country, or face the people's wrath. Locking up freedom fighters won't save them then. |

backnbeta:Don't be daft. How did you read from my post that "it's better they just Rob ordinary hustlers". Can't you read? I said attacking a senator is a harder target. Why would a thief want to go and rob a senator who has soldiers guarding him, when softer targets are available? Such a home would also have electric fence and surveillance. backnbeta:They have to get in first. Furthermore, if the police ignores a common man's call for help, I guarantee you they won't ignore a senator's call. |
