Tinubu pushed his unknown Chief of Staff to be governor against more popular candidates. He won.

Bit by bit, he started winning back the states taken by the PDP. He made inroads outside his domain and won states in the south-south and the core north. States which had not been won by the opposition before fell like a man who just reached intense orgasm with another man's wife when magun took effect.

He did not support a disrespectful governor for second term. The governor was humbled out and has kept mute ever since.

A former APC chairman opposed him. The Jagaban shouted for the chairman to be removed. Oyegun was humbled out, and today Tinubu's candidate sits as APC's chairman. Do you see why Oshiomole refused to overturn the Lagos APC primaries?

All politicians opposed to him were retired at the polls. Ask Bukola Saraki, Femi Pedro and soon Dino Melaye.

Smart politicians court him.

Today, his boys sit in various positions as Vice President, House of Representatives Speaker, tax boss, senior ministers, etc; while his preferred candidate presides over the Senate.

Add to that, all his businesses are thriving.

No politician dares insult him. The guy who tried it had to beg. Yes, Dino begged the Jagaban.

Call him a criminal, call him a fraud, you cannot rule out the fact that if it is not the Jagaban, it cannot be like the Jagaban. The man is incredibly smart, and daft people don't rise to be treasurers of ExxonMobil, especially daft black people.

I am yet to see any man living or dead man who has defeated him. From the look of things, only Tinubu can defeat himself, and he is too smart to do that. He would not throw his hat into the ring if he knows it would demystify him.

As a journalist, you don't need FOI to investigate stories. You need people and sense. Find out how Dele Giwa, Segun Osoba, Babatunde Jose, Maman Daura, Isa Funtua, and journalists of yore practiced journalism. Today, it has been monetized. Politicians and businessman plant stories, and journalists are happy to run them after being paid. Recall the story of Azu Ishekewene and Ayorinde. Also, why do you think the media did not feast on and bury Wale Tinubu and Mofe Boyo when their infractions were made public?

Back to the matter at hand: does the Federal Government acknowledge FOI in its finances? Does the behemoth NNPC tell us how much it earns? If NNPC accounts are audited today and we hear the expenses on the Senate alone, Nigeria would be on fire. No sane President would order an audit of NNPC and make the results public, except maybe a mad man like El Rufai.

My point is that we should not squeeze Lagos alone and demonize it.

A digression: one issue we have in Nigeria is lack of workable institutions. Each state's account must be audited and the results must be published. We need a law to back this up, so that people like Yahaya Bello would not take state funds to build mansions after spending less than a year as governor. States must be run like companies.

Finally, many of the politicians are not clean, but it takes genius to effectively cover their tracks. Has Tinubu effectively covered his tracks? To give an answer, we must prove that he has some tracks that need covering. Can you prove these?

When the Federal govt (Baba Iyabo) decided not to release Allocation to Lagos State during his tenure, did he seek subvention from Federal govt to revive Lagos state Like some do few years back? What does that communicates to you? It means he has a business mind to turn the fortune of this great country around for good.
