I hope so too. I am happy Mane is finally getting the attention he deserves. He has been under Mo Salah's shadow at Liverpool. I saw his disappointment at the last awards, he didn't look too pleased, so I for one, will be glad to see him win

Same can be said of Mane.. Mahrez wasn't the stand-out player in the cups he won.. He wasn't even the best player of the Tournament even though he won it, his Algerian teammate was, started most EPL matches from the bench..The likes of Sterling, DeBruyne, Bernardo Silva were more instrumental .. You can't say the same for Mane.. Mane is a stand-out player for both Senegal and Liverpool.. Runner-Up AFCON, Won UEFA Champions League, Won EPL golden boot, currently firing Liverpool into a strong contender for the EPL this season. He's a better player than Mahrez in all ramifications.

How much did Mahrez perform his year? He never played enough in his club side and he is always benched.
Be sincere, is his performance his year worth the best in Africa?
If yes, then CAF should abolish giving out the award because it is not about winning afcon but a yearly captivation of a player's performance.
Mind you, Bernardo won more trophies than anyone this year and he never got to top three of FIFA or European best players.

Mane has been touted as one of the top world footballers since January and you are saying Mahrez should win it.

I'm not supporting Mahrez, if for nothing , I haven't forgiven him for disgracing us with that free kick goal at the semi's, it touched my bone marrow, and I'm still in 'sifia' pains.
Mane contributes more to Liverpool and Senegal than Mahrez to Man City. I agree, Although Klopp is doing a great job by building a proper team, where each player contributes their quota and no player feels more important, but Mane was missed when he was injured and it showed he was an 'integral' part of the strike team(if not the engine sef)

I am trying to play the devils advocate and reasoning with some voters who vote based on silverware

As for Bernado Silva, I commit him into Gods hands, as it must really hurt, he gives it his all, every time for club and country and he is still ignored when its time for recognition. His day will come, like its almost coming for Stergen and Neuer.

Mane is winning it..no one came close to him this year... Mahrez club form wasnt good but he did well for country..well Messi even thinks Mane is the best footballer in the world.

Which 1 is Sadio Messi again? Has Messi ever told u he has African as relative? As Barcelona fan I will talk mine.. If they don't give it to Mane it's rubbish.. The guy will turn himself to left back on the pitch turn himself to anything he's indeed a beast.. That's the reason why I prefer Messi to Ronaldo. Some FORWARDS that can turn themselves to anything even DEFENDERS

Mahrez shouldn't even be in top three.
He wasn't the best player in the tournament so he should just chill.

If those in CAF make the mistake of giving him the award then they have succeeded in destroying the little reputation left in them.

A player that sat on the bench for more than half a season named African best will be a disgrace to the continent plus others who watch football in Europe will just laugh at them.
