I'm wondering how people read that whole write-up and commented up to 3 pages and didn't spot the fact that the bill is limited only to the south. Which means Male and female paedophiles in the north can and would still continue raping young infant boys. Unbelievable!!! GistWorld: |

bukatyne:Looks like the legal definition has been updated. That definition, unchanged since 1927, was outdated and narrow. It only included forcible male penile penetration of a female vagina. The new definition is:Still a man cannot be PENETRATED by a woman. |

Men are silent victims. Infact dying in silence just because the society see men as... |

anonimi:that's according to our current archaic rape laws written by ignorant people, not according to the true definition of what rape is - sex without consent. If you have sex with a person (whether you penetrate them or force them to penetrate you or you perform MouthAction on them) without their consent (or a person not old enough, too drunk, or too drugged to give consent), it's rape. It's time for that to be reflected in our laws. |

anonimi:oga, the same US whose dept of Justice definitions you are quoting, recognizes male rape victims, and women have been sentenced for raping males (adults and minors). |

Praise God! I hope they have also given rape a broader definition too. |

Fadomero:Is this the only bill you have seen this year? Or are you deliberately ignorant? Perhaps you should follow the National Assembly on social media so you can keep track of its activities. Little bits of information would help shape your opinion of the legislature. That way you won’t sound like an ignoramus anymore. |

anonimi:raising awareness by educating ignoramuses who claim men cannot be raped. If other men did the same instead of arguing blindly that they cannot be victims, our leaders (law makers especially) would eventually make laws that recognize men as much more than just perpetrators, and women as much more than just victims. |

How and why should it be limited to the Southern states? |
| Re: Senate Bill Recognising Males As Rape Victims Passes Second Reading by meobizy(f): 9:43am On Nov 27, 2019 |
igboamakaaa:It’s because no one really cares about the news. It is a good gesture but it’s none of my business because I know no male or female whose faced the ordeal in life. If this was one of those made up romance topics this thread will hit ten pages. |

GistWorld:is there such nonsense like a law being limited to only the southern states Aside that this bill is long overdue...Just this last week, four ladies raped to death a guy in my street. He was drugged and bleeped They were arrested and later released cos the law doesn't recognize the offense they committed |
| Re: Senate Bill Recognising Males As Rape Victims Passes Second Reading by Bahddo(m): 1:16pm On Nov 27, 2019 |
igboamakaaa:that's likely because Nigeria has two sets of laws governing crime - the Penal Code of Northern Nigeria (inspired by sharia laws) applicable in northern states, and the criminal code that applies everywhere else. This nation is a long-expired contraption. |
| Re: Senate Bill Recognising Males As Rape Victims Passes Second Reading by McPizzle(m): 1:26pm On Nov 27, 2019 |
bigfrancis21:The statute of limitation only removes the barrier on years within which an action can be brought against an accused for an alleged wrong, I suspect your fears are unfounded because the bill if passed into law most probably, won't have a retroactive effect which means the intended changes will only apply to cases that happen after the commencement of the act. |
