Studying MANDELA as a person has instilled in me some levels of patriotism. For an man to change the world, particularly AFRICA, requires great deals of WISDOM AND DETERMINATION..Comparing his lifestyle with the NIGERIAN SOCIETY has left me with some unanswered questions..
DO WE HAVE NIGERIAN MANDELAS?
IF THEY REALLY EXISTED, CAN THEY MEASURE UP TO HIM?
WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF WE HAVE ATMOST HALF OF OUR POPULATION AS PATRIOTIC AS MANDELA?
COULD THIS EVER HAPPEN?

I'm not trying to say we are not as patriotic enough but can we go as far as MANDELA did? It is without doubt that we've had some good citizens..Take for instance ACHEBE..He was a true NIGERIAN..Besides him were others..E.g WOLE SOYINKA..These were and still are great citizens of NIGERIA but their impact were limited to the shores of AFRICA alone..Straight-forwardly speaking, Patriotism is our choice but many fail to accept it..With it, MANDELA whom we celebrate today changed his Country, Africa and the World today..If we all could be like MANDELA our country would change for the better..But CAN WE HAVE SOMEONE WHO CAN STAND AS MANDELA DID?

Yoruba is not panicked over Sowore. Ibo is the one thatbhas panicked and continues to panick.

No be today our freedom fighters dey go jail. We know how the course runs. He will come out, alive! Nigeria does not want another problem with Yoruba so soon after Abiola issue. Especially not now that millions of Ibos and Hausas now live in Yorubaland. That will be a volatility too hot for any Nigerian security force to contain, individually or collectively.

So we are not fretting over Sowore, you should not either.
