When Oshiomhole was vigorously campaigning for Obaseki, do you think it was a selfless act, or he was doing it because he loved Edo State?

Oshiomhole needed a stooge to replace him to cover up the atrocities he commited when he as governor. Obaseki appeared like the ideal puppet that could be teleguided by a godfather.

This was the reason why more strongwilled and perhaps more qualified candidates such as Oshionmhole's deputy governor, Pius Odubu - was not considered by Oshionmhole.

I'm sure Obaseki like Sireki Dickson will conduct the primaries for the APC governorship candidate? the sooner he moves to Labor party or Apga the better for him, because APC headquarters in Abuja will lot endorse him, no single individual is bigger than the party, Ambode found out the hard way, Never bite from the hand that feeds you, who is Obaseki? We know his uncle the late supreme Court judge, but who is this one?

Obaseki and Okiye should remember four years is not forever. If they are actually in power to serve, why not initiate reconciliation path for the sake of Edo people instead of trying to prove you are super. In Nigeria, it is when the powers that be have your time that you will be shocked at the number of laws, policies and regulations we have that are never enforced/implemented. As far as it does not favour them or give then an edge they will ignore but once they have something to gain, watch your back. That is what happened with Code of Conduct and former CJN; countless office holders never file their declaration of assets correctly or on time but no one cares until they need to score a major political point. CCB says they have no power to publicise the assets declaration of the President without his consent but they could do that of the CJN without his consent. Leave Naija o! Shitthole!

The political crisis in the Edo state has
degenerated further with the state House of
Assembly declaring vacant the seats of 12
lawmakers-elect yet to be inaugurated.

All the 24 state legislators in Edo are members
of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The deputy speaker of the assembly, Yekini
Idiaye, told journalists in Benin that the
resolution to declare the seats vacant was
reached during plenary on Wednesday.

The seats declared vacant are Etsako West I,
Etsako West II, Owan East, Owan West, Etsako
Central, Etsako East and Esan Central.
Others are Uhunmwonde, Oredo East, Oredo
West, Egor, Ovia North East I, Ovia North East
II and Ovia South-west I.

Mr Idiaye said the members representing
Oredo East and Owan East state constituencies,
who were sworn-in, failed to meet the
mandatory 181-day sitting requirement for a
member in a calendar year.
Mr Idiaye said the other affected members
failed to present themselves for the
inauguration.

“Their constituents have been complaining and
have come to us that they want their voices
and concerns to be heard at the House. So,
people who are willing to provide quality
representation have to be elected to bring the
matters of the distraught constituents to the
floor for debate and legislation, where
necessary,” he said.

The 12 lawmakers were among the 15 excluded
from the controversial inauguration of the state
assembly in June because of the power-tussle
between the national chairman of the APC,
Adams Oshiomhole, and the Edo governor,
Godwin Obaseki.

Nine out of 24 lawmakers met at night to
inaugurate the assembly and elect a speaker,
Frank Okiye.

Their exclusion of the others, PREMIUM TIMES
learnt, was to prevent Mr Oshiomhole’s
loyalists from taking control of the state
legislature.

The 12 lawmakers-elect have been since fled to
Abuja for fear of their safety.
One of the affected lawmakers-elect,
Washington Osifo, accused Mr Obaseki of
“bringing back gangsterism” into the state
politics.

“I have told people, this is not the governor I
used to know,” Mr Osifo, who was elected to
represent Uhunmwode State Constituency, told
PREMIUM TIMES, in July.

“The governor I used to know when he came
(into power) was against any form of
gangsterism.

“But because he is now gunning for a second
term, all those things he came out to condemn,
he is now the one welcoming them – arrogance,
gangsterism – he has brought them back into
the system,” Mr Osifo said.

Governor Obaseki open the door for them in line with democratic practises to come back and be inaugurated but they chose to fight him of which they relocated to Abuja where they enjoy Oshiomole patronage and from which they wage war against the state using Oshiomole power.

Oshomole was even responsible for their feeding and upkeep in their hideout in Abuja where they plan their wicked act to destabilize a peace loving state and a peace loving people.

Was that the responsibility the good people of Edo state sent Oshiomole to Abuja to do?

Like I said on nairaland in my previous post, if Oshiomole learn the "E don do strategy" and shealth the sword by embrasing the olive branch with govenor Obaseki he would have been an emperor with honours.

Now he has been suspended by his wards and local councils in Etsako, Edo state which suggests that he is not eligible to represent the party at the national level.

His only saving grace, is President Buhari who is not even a democrat.

Obaseki is digging the grave of his downfall.APC made him governor.It was Oshiomole that campaigned for him.He hardly said anything during campaign. If APC refuses to use him again he can never win in Edo state.Those pushing him have no plan for him at all.From all indications his days are numbered as the governor.
