There are mixed feelings in Abia State over the Federal High Court sentence of the former governor of Abia State and current Senate Chief Whip, Orji Uzor Kalu to 12 years imprisonment. Kalu had been standing trial alongside his firm, Slok Nigeria Limited, and Udeh Udeogu, who was Director of Finance and Accounts at the Abia State Government House during Kalu’s tenure as governor Irukkanews reporters who visited some parts of the state said that while some people were happy with the judgement, others were very bitter. The report has that in major streets in Umuahia and Aba people were seen in groups discussing the development. Innocent Njoku, an indigene of Bende local government area who spoke with irukkanews in Umuahia said that it was a miscarriage of justice. According to him, Senator Orji Uzor did not deserve what happened to him, going by all that he has done for APC in Abia State. When he reminded that the case has been on before APC came on board, he said “It then means that APC is a double-faced party. Did the National Chairman of APC, Adams Oshiomhole not say that once you join APC, all your sins are forgiven. I am sure that must be the reason why he left PDP to APC. But now, see the way they have treated him. When we say that this party cannot be trusted, some people misunderstand us. Now , everybody has seen it”. He said that what happened to Senator Kalu is a temporary set back, as he would soon bounce back. In his contribution, Chidinma Ukaegbu described the sentence as Daniel coming to judgement. According to her, Orji Uzor Kalu and her mother wrecked Abia when they were in power. She said that had it been that Kalu laid a good foundation, his successors would have capitalized on it and move the state forward like in the other states. Her words; “Well, what I want to say is that the judgement is deserved because of what Orji Uzor Kalu did to Abia State, what Rochas Okorocha did to Imo State and I know that one day it will also become the turn of Okorocha. No evil deed should go unpunished. The deplorable state that Abia is in now is because of Orji Uzor Kalu and his mother, the way they mismanaged the state. So, I feel that he should pay for his evil deeds”. Read more on http://irukkanews.com/index.php/2019/12/05/mixed-feelings-in-abia-over-orji-kalus-sentence/

gidgiddy:He's a traitor and a sellout because he refused to lick one useless boy's urine like some nutjobs here? You have said this now. The moment that idiot says otherwise in a broadcast later, saying Kalu is going through this just because he is Igbo, trying to whip up tribal sentiments against the state as usual, you'd make a complete 180⁰ and agree with him. Same way you pounded your hollow chest over you people killing two policemen, claiming you are preparing to do more, only to make a u-turn sensing the consequences of your actions wont be palatable. You talk before you think. Heck, you dont even think at all. All you do is wait for that albino to do your thinking for you. You are such a pathetic joke. |
