Traffic in lagos is becoming something else. It keeps getting worse. Day by day.

So I'd like to know from your opinion, which between these two causes the gridlock in lagos:

Too many vehicles or Crazy drivers that hardly keep to driving rules? Your opinions

How about the lack of good and accessible road network. congestions. over-population is another factor since its an urbanized state.

Crazy drivers does slow down traffic considerably, along with ill-planned roads but too many cars add much to it. 11+million cars is far too many, but that is a consequence of inadequate transport.

Imagine an underground train system moving people around, but note the queue for it in Holborn, London, yesterday, just to get to the platform!

Also add the police to the list. Sometimes you see very long traffic and wonder what caused it. When u finally get to the beginning, you will see a bunch of uniformed men mounting road blocks, boldly collecting their usual allowances from drivers. Some will even be checking for expired papers as if they were road safety officials. No matter how much u horn, they won't give a care about u.

The major cause of traffic in Lagos is a lack of a multi-modal transport system.

There are many other problems, for example, converting low density residential areas like Ikoyi and Victoria Island into high density commercial areas, but the number one cause of traffic in Lagos is a lack of a proper multi-modal transport system.
