IgbereTV reports that the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory sitting in Apo has granted an order restraining the reconciliation committee constituted by the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, from acting on the activities of the Edo State chapter of the party.

Justice Sylvanus Chinedu Oriji in a ruling on December 6, 2019, granted the order of interim injunction in Motion No. M/680/2019 between Mr Stephen Oshawo & 2 Ors v. Comrade Adams Aliu Oshiomhole & 2 Ors.

The Judge also stressed that Oshiomhole has no authority to constitute the committee as he has been suspended by relevant organs of the party in his ward and local council levels.

The court granted an order viz: “an order of injunction restraining the 2nd Defendant, its agents, members and/or privies from purporting to act as a reconciliation committee as the 1st Defendant, who is the constituting authority has no vires to so do since he has been suspended by the Ward 10 Executive Committee of the 3rd Defendant on the 2nd Day of November 2019 and ratified by the Etsako West Local Government Executive Committee on the 9th day of November, 2019 without an appeal and the seven days period for appeal having elapsed pending the hearing and determination of the Motion on Notice for Interlocutory injunction.”

Recall that Comrade Oshiomhole was suspended by Ward 10 Executives of the APC, after which the Etsako West Local Government Executive Committee ratified the suspension.

Subsequently, the State Executive Committee of the APC in Edo State upheld the suspension of Comrade Oshiomhole from the party.

unfortunately, APC will continue to grow stronger because most of the oppostion parties are filled with hungry, unprincipled, self-centred members. Ize-Iyamu who was the strongest contestant in the last guber election and a member of PDP is planning to decamp to the APC on the 13th of december. This will further kill the PDP in Edo state. Gej and his political family are now secret members of APC in Bayelsa. Same thing is happening across the country. At the end of the day, Nigeria will become a one party state unless APC self-destruct. It is easier for opposition parties to die or weaken in Nigeria than for the ruling party because there will always be food in the ruling party and that is what Nigerian politicians are after.

This is very misleading and diversionary.There was no time that Adams Oshiomhole was suspended by either his ward or local government chapter of APC.Obaseki only gathered some LGA chapters chairmen in govt house to announce his purported suspension in response to Ojezua removal by the state working committee of the party.Court order is very easy to get and it's not court judgement in itself.As somebody who is an APC member in Edo state,i feel very ashamed the way this present crisis is going.Personally,I don't think obaseki is serious about his second term ambition,because if he is,i think he should quietly move to another party to actualize his ambition.As somebody who has been following APC and Adams Oshiomhole since 2007,i can confidently say that nobody in Nigeria today can intimidate him.As an insider,i think it's virtually impossible to reconcile Adams Oshiomhole and Obaseki.I don't think Obaseki has done poorly as governor of Edo state.However, his lackluster disposition to politics and politicians in APC in the last three years is what is currently hurting him.Politicians from both camps in the party are afraid that if Obaseki comes back as governor he is going to do worse than he has done to them thus far.Obaseki is in a very tight corner because of lack of trusted allies in the party.Obaseki was shocked and terrified to see the name of Valentine Asuen(state youth leader) as among those who signed the removal of Anselm Ojezua as state party chairman.Valentine Asuen has been organising rallies for obaseki since this crisis started and yet his heart is not with him.Anyway,i wish APC all the best in Edo state.
