African leaders are a bunch of confused & corrupt entities who prefer to dance to the tune of America's, France, Chinese etc.

Gaddafi had an idea for that single currency shyt. But African leaders decide to allow him to be killed, when they could have helped. Now, d west don turn his country to the den of terrorists who buy d way keep plaguing almost d whole of Africa.

I skimmed through the article because I have short attention span.

I think all regions in Africa should be countries (Northland,Westland,Eastland,Southland,Midland,Madagascar) .All ethnic nations(Yoruba,Fang,Ashanti,Akwacross,Igbo,Khran,Hausa, etc) within each country should be states or city-states,depending on the size of land, and they should have autonomy and control of their resources ,economy and development. That's not too different from the current colonial mergers anyway , only this time it will be done on Africa's terms, not forcefully merged by colonial powers.
With a true federalism, each state or city-state would develop at it's pace . I believe the ideal system of Government for Africans is Social democracy . Educational system should be practical .
When I look at the current state of Africa ,all I see are a lost people wandering like beast in a never ending wilderness. The current system will never work .

Nigeria struggling to get it inflation to below 10%. The other is issue is meetimg revenue targets. That's an issue with tax collection and economic diversity. I dont know about the other.

France isn't the issue. They've done a great managing the currency compared to the other countries in the region. The francophone nations are already demanding their reserves back from France. France could abandon it the currency without a consequences to their economy.
Abi o. CFA has held it is value far better than currencies currently managed by national states alone.

Since France adopted Euro, technically given up control of CFA became a lot easier. CFA is currently pegged to Euro, not FF anymore. Therefore Euro helps support CFA. Britain would a better job of Naira is allowed to manage it.

I think it could work if we adopt a currency that is doing really well as a unit of exchange across the region in addition to our local currencies. We can also set up a regional exchange which will be more powerful and can compete with international exchanges as well as African exchanges. West Africa can act as a bloc to improve their economy and currency if we study and learn from the mistakes of the European Union... we already have elements of the EU with Ecowas.

The only issue is that other African countries are not pulling their weight and causing issues for Nigeria. We can find solutions to that but make sure that each countries citizens are protected when it comes to jobs, security and quality of life.

We may need to scrap the ability of people to just come and work and do business anyhow across the region. When we have not even found the solution to our high rate of unemployment.

I always laugh at this suggestion.

How can double digit inflation economies like Nigeria merge with very low inflation CFA economies like Ivory Coast or Benin republuc?

If the Euro caused so much turbulence to EU economies except Germany which was left unscathed by it's adoption. It was probably made to order for the German economy, known for its extremely disciplined monetary policy and even it's fiscal prudence -runs a budget surplus.

If the EU countries had a hard time adapting to the Euro (Poor Italy can not devalue itself out of it's economic malaise), how much more countries like Nigeria and Ghana.

The idea should be poopooed.
