A Nigerian journalist has taken to twitter to notify the Police and the general public about a possible threat posed by some group of cultism in Edo State.

The journalist identified as Jackson Ude a former Director of Strategy/Communication under President Goodluck Jonathan posted a video that shows group of Unidentified boys chanting war songs and boosting how they will waste bloods, displaying their long and hand guns, axes and bullets.

Cultists are preparing for a blood bath in Benin, the Edo State Capital.

There has been serious tension in Edo State over the past few weeks due to cult war going on between three different cult groups, the Maphites, (popularly called Aye) and Eiye confraternities.

The clash which has claimed many lives started when a 200-level student of the University of Benin, Moses Adeshina, popularly called Aficionado, was shot dead at the Jeans Carnival organised by students of the Faculty of Social Sciences.

This is a serious threat to the general public, and must be treated with sense of urgency.

The police need to swing into action just to ensure that peace is maintained!.

At some point, this foolishness has to stop. It's getting out of hand once again. One of my workers (a final year student) was gunned down less than 3 weeks ago and I feel the loss deeply as I wonder how a 24 year old young man not even yet in his prime would be so callously pumped full of bullets and all his dreams terminated. Over what Na? This energy they see putting into these senseless 'wars' would be better utilized if channeled towards more productive endeavours.
