Regardless, he is closer to his grave now........
Bitter truth is that for each day that passes by, everyone is a day closer to the grave.

same rumor that said Pres Musa Yaradua was alive and even gave a "telephone talk" from Saudi until they could no longer bear the stench of dead body , even Dora Akinluyi of blessed memory had to come out that information was kept from her.

I ain't saying he is dead or alive, cos anyone of the two has no bearing on Nigeria.
cos he ain't the president.
and even the president if he decides to die will only be news for some days

God bless Nigeria.
....which one is wish death again? grin grin
I think people should feel free to write in their lingua franca rather than all these incurable blunders.
Say: ....wish dead
Don't say: ...wish death

There has been a rumour in the past few hours that former military president, General Ibrahim Babangida, has passed away.

However, one of his media aides, who is also a journalist with Nigeria Info 99.3FM, Yemi Saka has stated that General Babangida is still alive.

How is it a news that a despot is not dead?

Whatever role he played in Nigeria is now history; dead or alive, he can't change nada!

ibb is still a kid in pry sch. in terms of "bad people" in Nigeria.
his masters are walking free with no one to catch them!!!
you wan quote me? hello "thunder" "where are you?"
Re: President Ibrahim Babangida Is Alive - Yemi Saka by profilemessages: 2:35pm On Dec 15, 2019
and let me add this tip:

bad people "usually" live longer than good people

because the angel of death was once asked and he asked: " if they ask you to cut down a tree from the forest, and you see two trees one straight and tall and another curly and bent, which one will you cut down?"

so we can only appeal to people to do good whilst still breathing but wishing them death doesn't necessarily mean that they will die!!!

General Ibrahim Babangida's title from August 1985-August 1993 was president. I don't know how many times I have to tell you children that!

There have been many military presidents around the world, but in Nigeria, we have a custom of not addressing military heads of state with the title "president". However, General Babangida changed that. His title from 1985-1993 was president.
You may be older than me but make no mistake I am not a child as you addressed me.

Thank you, sir.

Lest we forget

1.IBB was among those who removed Shagari in 1983...and as a result, got named Chief of Staff.

2.IBB also ran our economy to the ground....with that thing called SAP and also made our foreign exchange two-tirered which has brought about the evil of round tripping among others. Under his regime, the joke was that 'My take home salary cannot take me home'.

3.IBB was a serial abuser of human rights. In 1986, under his regime, university students who were protesting his regime died under a hail of bullets from his soldiers and men. Also, newspaper houses were closed down regularly. And let us not forget Dele Giwa who was killed by letter bomb..If you were a critic of the army government, you went to jail (Gani Fawehimni was a good example)

4.Many of you people call Buhari a nepotist. And you are right. IBB too also did his own brand of nepotisim. By 1988, Muslims and Northerners held a lot of the serious posts. And go and read the 1990 Orkar coup speech...just to show how bad the nepotisim nearly led to a serious crisis in our country

5.IBB truncated the political transition programme, partly in the name of selfishness, and also to please his Northern brethren. And he nearly became life president in 1993, if not for the action of the pro-democratic branch of the Army. Sadly, they were no match for Abacha.

6.Life was good from 1986-88 when IBB followerd good economic advise...then from 1988...it went downhill

7.IBB was just as corrupt as this current and previous regimes.

8.Need I add the chronic religious violence under the man's regime. Christians who lived in Kaduna state in March 87 would not forget IBB in a hurry, and his slow response to a crisis that left huindreds displaced, many dead, and injured, and proterties destroyed...including 113 churches. And 1987 was not the only violent year. Yes, it was not Boko Haram or Maitatsine level....but it was still BAD.

Does that mean I like Buhari? No. If anything I believe that Buahri 1) had no business running for President at all 2) and both him and Nzeogwu, Ifeajuiana should have resigned their commissions in 1983, and 1966 respectively and gone into politics if they were really concerned about changing things...instead of truncating our first and second republics, and making us the very immature democracy we are today. We could have been at India's level if those people had just resigned their commisons and done the right thing. As much as I don't like Chavez of Venezuela...he eventually received sense...and resigned his commison and went into poltics, and got elected the right way.

But hating Buhari should not make you elevate a man who was just as bad for Nigeria into hero status. I lived under his regime. And he ain't no hero. He and Buhari are just alike. And just part of the long list of bad Nigerian leaders since independence.
