solmusdesigns:Then place a ban on all the TV and Radio stations plus newspaper media publication systems of misinformation because they've also misinformed the public masses at various times and known to withdraw and correct previous news publications and broadcasting. It's not only social media that is guilty of misinformation. Even the government is guilty. |

Bedwyr:Stop changing history it was Buhari that ran out economy aground in the 80s like he has today and Babangida only came to restablize it !!!! Nigeria has no choice than to accept SAP as proscribed by the IMF as the only way to save the damaged economy as damaged by illiterate Buhari .. Stop trying to change history Mr man ... Buhari in 18 months had completely wrecked the economy that Babangida had no choice than accept the IMF bailout in the name of SAP just so the economy could survive till the Gulf war oil boom brought respite to the economy . When Buhari overthrew Shagari for no reason Nigeria airways had 33 planes but after just 18 months if Buhari the same airline had turned into a struggling airline with jus 8 planes ...Buhari has been the problem and is still the problem little wonder he has destroyed all the gains we made from 1999 to 2014 and once against destroyed the middle class ... |

SarkinYarki:Because of the oil price crash of September 1982...when the price of one barrel went down from $32 to $9, the economy was in a bad state by 1983, so much so that Shagari was already calling for austerity. Had he been in power beyond 1983....the economy would have continued its downward trajectory. (The 1980's were bad times for oil producers. Venezuela was in very bad shape in 1984-89 for example...which is one of the factors that led to the Chavez coup in the early 1990's that failed. Also, the invasion of Kuwait by Iraq was partly motivated by Iraq craving Kuwaiti oil revenues due to the wreckage of its economy due to the Iran-Iraq war. And the Saudis were not helping matters then by pumping oil reckelssley. The 1980's was a bad time to be an oil producer....and revenues fell drastically) Buhari by the way was offered SAP, as well as some IMF incentives to 'help the economy'. He refused. IBB even took SAP because the alternative was to take another loan. And even then, our debt rose under his regime, and by 1993, we were running a deficit budget. Why I consider all Nigerian leaders bad , Buhari and IBB inclusive, is that they did not take the hint and take us off being dependent on the price of oil. Which is why our economy is in a bad state. Our resources are not enough for all of us. When Buhari overthrew Shagari for no reason Nigeria airways had 33 planes but after just 18 months if Buhari the same airline had turned into a struggling airline with jus 8 planes ...Buhari has been the problem and is still the problem little wonder he has destroyed all the gains we made from 1999 to 2014 and once against destroyed the middle class ...Nigeria Airways had 26 Airplanes in 1980, 22 Airplanes in March 1985, and 16 airplanes by 1990. (See the Wikipedia article for more details). The main reason why Nigeria Airways failed was simple. Nigerians like cheap things. And an airline is expensive. And I'll leave it at that.(For example, many big men and women won't pay excess luggage charges. The bad economy did not help matters.). As far as I am concerned, if GEJ had won by 2015, the economy would have continued its downward trend. NOI was already warning in January 2015...that the falling oil prices meant that the economy would be in a bad state whoever won (and people like me could see this coming back in May 2014...when oil started falling from highs of $126 per barrel to $30 per barrel by Jan 2016.). Also, if GEJ was as good as you say he is, Buhari had no business winning in 2015. Infact, I blame GEJ for Buhari winning. PDP would have won in 2015 if they had won the Middle Belt...and the fact that PDP midlle belt governors had messed up seriously, and GEJ did nowt about replacing them with better alternatives...led to PDP Losing the middle belt and by extension the election. Then add the fulani herdsmen crisis which was happening long before Buhari took over too. In my opinion, though, Buhari is not any better. No idea on how to get us off oil. Nepotisim. Corruption. And so on. And 2023 is not looking good either. (And no, I have never voted for either PDP or APC , or CPC, OR ANPP at all, and don't intend too.) |

mimilogs:He was officially president. He adopted that title and Aikhomu was officially VP. IBB had the chance to be a hero of African democracy as he was to handover to civilians in 1990 just like Rawlings. Instead he fvcked up and Rawlings became a hero. |

I have said it countless times, but, you see, we ordinary people does not count, please my hero, come out and tell Nigerians you are sorry for the annulment of Hope 93. If David Mark who said he will shoot if you don't annul and never wanted the Democracy in first place can rule for 16 year under democracy and he is living large and steal money money for panama papers why then, can you not free yourself from that period. Nigerians, i'm sure, will have a rethink. My hero, please, apologise now because God loves you greatly. |
