Tomorrow morning By Today In Nigeria 12 - 18 - 2019, President Donald John Trump would be impeached by the House of Representatives, becoming only the third American President in more than 200 years to be impeached by the House.

Like Bill Clinton, he's likely to survive in the Senate where Republicans hold a majority. At least for now, that's the belief.

But a Nigerian politician once told me after many party members collected a lot of money from them overnight but refused to vote for them the next day that in politics, things can change very fast.

The first President to be impeached here was Andrew Johnson. That was in March 1868. He was the 17th American President. There were 11 articles of impeachment against him.

Clinton was the second one after he had sex with an intern inside the Oval Office. And now Trump. For Trump, there are two articles of impeachment against him.

An article of impeachment is simply your sin, your crime. He's accused of committing two crimes.

1 Pressuring a foreign leader to investigate Joe Biden and then
2. Obstructing Congress when it tried to investigate.

Impeachment is not great even when you survive in the Senate. 149 years and 11 months after Johnson was impeached, the only thing he's remembered for is that he was impeached.

Party driven impeachment? When Rudy Giuliani has admitted he needed Marie Yovanovitch out of the way because she was standing in the way of potential investigation of the Bidens. Trump had obstructed the Congress by refusing to co-operate with the impeachment probe, barring staff from testifying and holding back documentary evidence.

This should tell you he is guilty. Look at his body language so far and deduce your facts. I know the Republican controlled senate would kick against the impeachment but that doesn't absolve Mr Trump of his guilt. The republicans are just being loyal to their party member and i think the constitution they swore to protect should be the most important thing here not their embattled party member.
