Pan-Yoruba socio-political organisation, Afenifere, on Tuesday said South-West governors are reluctant about tackling insecurity challenges in the region because of party allegiance and fear of offending leaders of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Speaking with Daily Independent, Yinka Odumakin, the organisation’s National Publicity Secretary, said there will not be solution to insecurity challenges in the region unless there is autonomy through restructuring.

“For the governors, we understand that party allegiance is a problem for them. If they take any firm action against the herdsmen, they will be offending their party leaders.

“I know the difficulty around that. When the Inspector General of Police (IGP) came to South-West to organise a security summit, and at the end of the summit, they made our governors to sign a communiqué that OPC and Miyetti Allah will jointly work together to patrol and secure South-West.

“You are asking the cause of the problem to go and proffer solution to it because we are under their binds. So, there is no solution to this issue until we get autonomy.

“The Nigeria structure is one that encourages these kind of things and until we bring down the structure that brings every power in the hands of Abuja, our lives are not going to be secured”, he said.

Daily Independent had earlier reported that that South- West governors, especially those elected on the platform of the APC, are not on the same page with Iba Gani Adams, the Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland, on finding a lasting solution to the insecurity challenges rocking the region.

Out of the six governors in the region, only Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, who is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has shown some measure of support for the Aare Ona Kakanfo’s plans to rid the South- West of banditry, kidnapping, and other vices.

Sorry which region that restricted the activities of herdsmens like southwest? Afenifere is number one problem we have in southwest. The same toothless thing led southwest region to a destruction in 1999.

Nigeria has been in a difficult situation because of the activities of killer herdsmen.Mind you, these herdsmen have been labelled as the fourth deadliest terrorist group in the world by the Global Terrorism Index. They have carried out massacres in rural and agrarian communities, and have been emboldened enough by the slackness of state security forces to move into urban settings

The needless defence of the Fulani by Tinubu.By now, everyone would have noticed that the most strident defence of the Fulani over the herdsmen issue has come from southerners, particularly the Yoruba.

On the question of whether the Fulani deserve the stereotype of cold-blooded killers or not, the Yoruba people have wept louder than the bereaved....Today, the Fulani are resented, and not just because of the herdsmen issue but also because of the clannishness and tribalism of President Muhammadu Buhari who has more or less driven collective benefits in the direction of a selected class.

List the constitutional amendments you want then recommend it the representatives. Decentralized policing and prisons are first two to consider. Make sure the state assembly restrains the powers of executive if you end passing it.

Ko ni Itiju. People are brutalizing you , you are still begging for presidency. Is this one a human being? They are killing your sisters, turning you into slaves, you are talking of win-win. Olosho.

Let me tell you. SW will not get presidency in 2023.

No 1. You don't deserve it. How can people respect you when you have no self respect. You are desperate power seekers and beggars. Beggars dont rule. They are disgusting. We SE and the Northerners are proud people that will not kow tow to beggars.

No 2. The North wont handover for three reasons
a, They dont have to. They have never handed over willingly so why they should they start.
b, They need the presidency more than anyone else because thats the only way their regions get developed
c, The Ibos and PDP are going to field a Northern Candidate, they have to. And If APC bring an Afonja, they will lose massively. PDP will use Tinubu wash toilet.

So please cherish Osunbade now you have him. No more power for Backstabbing Asewo.

Afenifere is the only honourable group in Southwest , if anything happens to them mark my word yorubas will be overran by fulanis ,
Fulanis only has regards for them Afenifere who are steadfast on saving oduduwa from dangers since 2000 ad ,
When yinka odumakin becomes tired and frustrated by the Moslems ,Lagos Touts ,Ruga baales and fulani ass lickers of their politicians (hmm SMH"" infact 98% of yorubas are against Afenifere because they like igbos) , then u know how satanic tinubu is ,then u know he dosent protect u from igbos ,
.....U will search for odumakin like Tiv nation n middle belt searches for Gideon orkar but u won't see him , hate igbos while fulani overran u ,hate odumakin while tinubu set MC oluomo as ur next generation role model!
