Bro he made a lot of senses ... it can lead to a court case .. pls let's be positive about this , especially for those that trusted friends and family with their lIfe.. no one can be trusted with property documents, it has happened in the past ... a friend bought a property while in diaspora and ask a friend to sign the agreement on behalf , but the guy put his name and and signature

While writing a date on any document in the upcoming year 2020, please write it in its full format,

e.g. 31/01/2020 and not as 31/01/20, 'cos anyone can change it to 31/01/2000 or 31/01/2019 or in between any year.

This can render the document invalid.

So be cautious about this.

Don't write and also don't accept it in any document.

This problem will persist only during the year 2020.

Something like 12/12/19 can't really be used for fraud because most instruments like cheques have being used now has not been created in the 1990's and again the difference between the years is much.

For instance 1999 to 2019 is like 20 years difference but 2019 and 2020 is just a year difference

This info is important for those working in Banks and business men who use cheques, other business instruments and sign contacts.

Fraudsters can actually take advantage of this loophole.

Imagine signing a contract to end 01/07/20. And a fraudster changes the date to 01/07/2019. That case is debatable even in the law court and could go either way.

I support the op, let's be careful with writing out dates in 2020 so that fraudsters won't take advantage of us.

Let's not always take things for granted.
