DMerciful:
They are migrating. They normally migrate thousands of kilometers. Probably going from North to central Africa. They aren't staying there!
Even while migrating, elephants would never pass through a battleground. They are highly sensitive animals. They can smell anything even by perceiving the grasses. If they sensed any trouble, they would have passed other routes. Do you know that there hasn't been any elephant sighting in Nigeria for many years now? Why now? You think it is a coincidence? No, elephants are very sensitive, very intelligent.

The fact is that that place is not what it used to be when Boko Haram reigned supreme.

What a beautiful sight. If value were placed on them a conservancy would be set up in the vicinity to help boost the numbers of all the wild life there. It could be turned into a tourist centre since its ten times the size of Lagos, a very good animal conservancy centre needs to be setup there.
When you have oil gluttons in power...they are unable to reason in any other way.
