I am not a tinubu fan, so for me to write in support it Fowler, I must have seen beyond politics and ethnicity.

I read where the new FIRS Boss criticised Fowler's administration sighting decline in revenue generation. However it goes to show that Buhari's administration wrecked so many businesses, created job losses, which in turn reflected on tax.

When over 12 million lost jobs in the first tenure, how will the tax on salaries be generated?

The cost of running businesses increased with fuel prices, electricity tarrifs etc. This will automatically result in reduced profit.

So many companies also left the country. So where was Fowler suppose to generate revenue from in the midst of all these?

Now, why all Nigerians (Especially Southerners)should be worried, is that we are about to witness reckless and irresponsible taxation. Where the government will tax Nigerians mercilessly without putting the economic situation and challenges facing businesses into consideration.

Correct me if I am wrong, but majority of the businesses that will carry the tax burden are in the south . Most businesses up north are not even captured in the federal tax raider.

So before you celebrate the removal of Fowler and the criticism of the new FIRS boss, bear in mind that this new administration won't have a human face.

Your analysis is a new angle to that I've never thought about, Flower was a victim of unstable economic policies. I was infurated when the new FIRS boss began this dangerous antics of blaming and creating a bad image of his predecessor, when he should concentrate instead on the job at hand, forgetting that he also leave that seat.

I won’t say anything until I see what the new boss is able to generate after a year in office.

@OP. Well said.

Yours is an "overlooked" and valid perspective.

While some of your observations may be on point, FIRS does not collect PAYE. The states do that.

Let's give the new guy a year. Then, we can make flawless assessments.

Every staff working in a Limited liability company has tax deducted from their salaries, which is then remitted to FIRS.

remitted to the States' Inland Revenue. LIRS collects for Lagos. FIRS collects company's profit tax and others.

You can’t tax people more than their capacity unless you want a revolt.
