Gov. Wike Hands Over 32 Vehicles To Rivers House Of Assembly Members by NwekeUG(op): 7:12am On Dec 29, 2019

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike handed over 32 Sport Utility Vehicles (SUVs) to members of the Rivers state House of Assembly over the weekend.

Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Ikuinyi Ibani made the news available to IgbereTV.

He said,
“the governor handed to us the keys of official cars that belong to members of the State Assembly. This is how it should be and we are very grateful to him for providing such leadership and ensuring that members welfare are always given priority.

“Members shall continue to give meaningful contribution in their service and their productivity will be higher. On behalf of the Rivers State House of Assembly, we have sent our Christmas wishes before now and it is our wish that God will grant him the enablement to continue to do what is right for the people.”
Also the Deputy Speaker, Ehie Edison commended the governor for the gesture.

He said,
“We are most grateful and astonished and this gift is to aid our work. It will ensure that we can carry out our responsibilities as lawmakers. We assure him that we will continue to maintain this relationship and will not let the governor, Rivers government and people down.”

How much was each vehicle purchased is what we would like to know. There is no accountability in this country, no one asks questions except if it have to be the center.

This is very laudable at least it will improve the quality of lives in the state and boost the economic development as well as making the lawmakers function maximally. I hope they get a private jet for each members someday and that is democracy for all & by all. Quote me only if you did philosophy "logic" as elective.

Governor can just decide to gift stuff just like that...a whole suvs ..na wa for this kwantory. ....no advance notice, just surprise gift of 32 SUVs

This is definitely a bribe. The executive should not be in charge of procurement of vehicles for the legislature or judiciary. Wike should pay Rivers pensioners.
