We are in trouble in nigeria - it's as if we don't have anyone to curb govt appointees at all levels from corruptly stealing the budget, they have formed a cabal around the presidency and when they do receive reports they set them aside as just a rumour

Depressingly familiar - but very necessary.

The same old accusations and counter accusations. Fantastic, wild allegations back and forth. High drama all the way. A lot of motion - but no movement. But we must tumble far into the abyss before we can appreciate ascension into the light.

The current administration (like others before it) has made selective justice a kernel of state policy. Who are they fooling? undecided

By all means prosecute Obono-Obla immediately (and it seems this government is too inept to do even that) if he has broken the law. But what of the many, many other members of this government who have a case to answer? What message is being sent by letting them go scot free - for months and even years?

Nigerians must reap the consequences of their failure to hold their leaders accountable. It is inescapable. Can water flow uphill? Will age old laws be suspended just because Nigerians wish it to be so? undecided

Other people hold their leaders accountable. Other people build their institutions. Other people fight for these things as if their very lives depend on it - because indeed they do. But Nigerians don't care.

A country gets the leaders it deserves. We will all suffer this pain together.

Buharists will want to find a way to defend these, wanting to apply the rule of law in dealing with issues relating to the 2 above named, but have failed to admit how many are under trial on grounds of mere suspicion and nothing more.

Goto KANO and come back to judge Ganduje.
If stacking dollar in agbada is what will bring development to our states then so be it. Atleast at this stage of our democracy, we can still tolerate it.
Kalu was buying properties and renting them out to the state instead of building Secretariats when he was governor(1999). that is too bad.

Why not we create an Anticorruption Ministry independent of the Presidency that tackles recovery of loot and laundered money as a full time Ministry work. I bet you, Nigeria will have no reason to borrow again if all the looted fund are judiciously recovered and correctly applied.

Well, believe me, corruption, nepotism and trbalism will also eat so deep into the ministry; nothing good will come out of it. Corruption has eaten so deep into our system and I really do not want to sound pessimistic, I doubt if we are ever gonna get it right (tackling corruption) in this country.
