Nice move but.... If all states decides to go with this e-tags matters... Na e be say every motor's windscreen will be filled with stickers
Gosh! I forgot to mention one of the changes.

Previously motorists had to get separate e-tags for the expressway and the bridge. My e-tag was originally for the expressway. Then, on December 1st, LCC synchronised the toll systems on the bridge and the expressway.

I got to the toll plaza on the bridge one day and I wanted to pay cash, but the boom opened automatically. The toll collector said, "You have e-tag". I said, "Yes, but it's for the expressway" and she said, "The e-tag for the other side now works here".

Okay.. Nice one, but it's still within Lagos state... Am only trying to extend it to other 35 States including FCT... Like for instance; Anambra state (Onitsha head bridge) If they decide that every motorist that wants to make use of the road should have e-tag(s) Windscreen of cars will be filled up with stickers.

It's a welcome development Thoo... Cos I know some states will not like to dive into it sooner nor later.

Also, I will be quite happy if they publicly state how the funds collected are used, however, people who use the bridge regularly can already see a bit of what they are paying for.

That bridge has become an exercise bridge mainly for two reasons:

The bridge is always well lit. The street lights almost never go off at night time. From 2013-2015, all the lights and equipment that require electricity were powered by two big generators, one at the Ikoyi end and another at the Lekki end. The bridge was put on the Lekki IPP in 2015 and on the rare occasions that the IPP goes off, they revert to the generators. There also seems to be some kind of inverter system at the toll plaza.

The bridge is very well secured. There are mobile policemen at the toll plaza and there are RRS officers and vehicles at both the Ikoyi and Lekki ends of the bridge. There's also a CCTV system on the bridge.

They also provide a free tow-away service and there are people that will help you fix your car if it breaks down, the road is regularly swept by LCC employees and the lane markings and road signs are well maintained.

Cash will no longer be accepted as a means of paying tolls at the Lekki-Ikoyi Link Bridge from today. Motorists will now have to use the e-tag, the swiftpass cards or vouchers as a means of payment at the toll plaza on the bridge.

Read the next post to find out how to pay at the bridge.
all the money being collected are they really going into the government purse or just individualshuhhuh

You can apply for the e-tag online and pick it up at certain bank branches or at their offices.

So a stranger who is driving through for the first time into Lekki will be denied right of movement and entry?
Yep... he will be redirected

It's been well publicized and NL is indeed a national platform and indeed other tv and radio platforms have aired these changes.

No time for sentiments...except of course in emergency cases

Good morning Nairalanders.. Happy New year.
Please help me in any possible way you can. I'm not asking for money so don't think I'm trying to rip people off their money.

I'm a University graduate with B-tech in Biochemistry but no job, I've tried my best but to no avail. So I decided to develop myself by building a career in tech skill basically data analysis and Science.. I've begun the training online but I couldn't proceed beyond excel because I don't have laptop to practice.. I tried learning it without System but it's really very difficult. I really don't know what to do because this is decision and I'm not changing it... There's no one to help me..

Please assist me with laptop, even if it is used one that you know you can spare.. Please help a brother, I don't want my passion to go down due to this challenge.

I will joyfully accept any working laptop. Please help me.

Anyone who is willing to help me should please contact me through this phone number.. 0-8-0-3-9-3-1-8-2-8-2.. Or seuncy88@gmail.com...

This is a good development but I have a question.. Does the E-tag work on both lekki and the expressway? And secondly I think people should be well enlightened and measures put in place to make everyone get the new tag or card easily without any stress. You can't just wake up and put a fixed date without test run and sensitization for at least 3months .

You do know that this system has already been working since 2011, right?
What do you qualify as “working”? Errors through these processes almost equals 50%! Is this viable??

I'd like to know the source of your 50% data. I use the bridge virtually everyday and I wouldn't say it's 50%, so I'd like to know the source of your statistic.

That is smart move to prevent fraud by LCC and control access to cash by their employees.

Vouchers can be counted before release to roving agents. Once your voucher finishes, you go and remit the money and collect another set.

Customers purchase etag from office,

Cash control from one central unit.
